Collaboration

Technology has revolutionized the world, making it a global village. It is through social sites such as twitter, facebook among others that have effected communication. Nevertheless, these social sites have shortcomings. They are hosted by central authority, which rely on single domains to host personal data for their clients. This is done in trust that, clients’ data will remain private, though no much control can be ventured.

In order to cub the above mentioned short coming, it is advisable to use alternative models such as friend to friend, where data sharing is managed and can be shared to trusted users only. The only short coming of this model is that it requires users to stay online most of the time in order to update data changes. This turns out to be time and resource consuming, but leaves clients’ data and personal details intact for they decide on whom to share the information to.

Collaborative tools helps in transforming the way data is shared in order to boost team work and group togetherness. Website collaboration is in line with the way humans interact. This is through the three modes human beings use. They are: conversations, transactions, and collaborations. Basically, they are all entities to facilitate effective communication between humans.

There are certain software’s used for enabling users in different physical locations to interact as though they were near each other. Such software’s are called collaborative software’s, and basically they are modified to help users to achieve their goals. These kinds of software’s are designed for people working on the internet, but in different physical locations. It not only enables communication, but also can act as storage system, to store data which can be used worldwide by member groups under the same work group.

Evaluation

The internet is not privately owned; therefore no one is in control of the content being posted there. It is the mandate of the students, as well as the teachers and all other users to critically evaluate the content they are using. This is to check if it is from a reliable author, with up to date validation, and if the information given is true. This can be achieved by comparing different articles to see if they contain similar if not the same information. Also, confirmation of the creditworthy the author is. This can be done by verifying different articles he or she has done, and following the comments there in.

Evaluation can also be done in a blog or a forum. This is done by a group of internet users, who follow up a certain article, and give out their honest opinion on how they judge the article. This can be a good way to evaluate if the article is genuine and can be used.

     In a nutshell, it is through the internet that the world has grown up to become a global village. Information technology has revolutionized the globe, with the help of the World Wide Web. In addition, collaborating information to work in groups, making it easy and more effective for people working in different physical location to achieve their goals has been as a result of technology, brought through website.

Therefore it’s the mandate for the internet users to evaluate critically on the information they are viewing in the internet for it is not all that which is there is the gospel truth.

1. a.      One thing I learned about south East Asians gambling is?

 

That, it is done by both men and women. They are involved into gambling irrespective of time whether day or night, they are actively involved. But mostly they prefer doing it at night. The reason as to why they are so much involved in gambling is as a result of depression. As in the movie, the woman who was involved in gambling was as a result of loosing her husband. She could not handle the pressure in the family, so she opted to gamble. Also, the upright men in Asia don’t gamble, reason being they listen mostly to the advices they are given by their wives. Those who can’t do without gambling go to an extent of borrowing in order to get money to gamble.

b. One thing I learned about South East Asian gambling problem is?

That, it tore’s families apart. For instance, in the movie, a man leaves the family at night, and goes out to gamble regardless of the wish of his wife. In addition, he goes to extend of stealing the wife’s jewelry to go and sell them just to have money to go and gamble. Nevertheless, the man also has no time to know what is happening to his family. The children are becoming hard to control; their mother is trying to involve the dad who turns a deaf ear to the matter.  More so, most of the children run to the streets at very tender ages due to family breakage caused by parents involvement in gambling.

c. One thing I learned about the impact of south East Asian gambling on families is?

The impact gambling has on South East Asian gambling is that; men are not caring about their jobs. They are solely involved in gambling. As it is depicted in the movie, a man is being reminded by his wife that it has been a week since he went to work. In return the man becomes violent and even slaps the wife.  Also, for the woman who is shown in the movie to be a gambler, leaves her children without food, and she comes back home late and drunk. She has no money, and the children have been hungry the whole day.

In addition the children are complaining that the dad has never bought them anything, and he better not be with them for he is abusing the mother.

d. One thing I learned about my stereotypes of South East Asian gamblers is?

Evidently, gambling is an act that any upright man should not get involved. Just as seen all over, the result is just the same as outlined in the movie: Regrets are the only results from gambling. Families are broken apart due to unconcerned parents, who instead of taking care of their families they dedicate most of their time in casinos and end up loosing all the money they could have used to feed their family.

 

Conclusion

In conclusion, gambling in Asia has turned out to have destroyed most of the families. It is as a result of gambling that most of the families have difficulties in life.  Gambling should be controlled, and any upright man should not be involved.

Introduction

Company industrial analysis fills the gap between the known and the unknown. In the present global market competition, industrial analysis is a key pillar to bridging gap between the business environment and the information technology. According to Kraft & Starkweather (2010), industrial company analysis comprises of two methods; technical analysis and fundamental analysis. Fundamental analysis focuses on analyzing the company and industrial characteristics. This is in order to evaluate the company’s value and competition level. Technical analysis involves a different approach where the interest lays on the price movements or the stock indexes in the stock markets (Kraft & Starkweather, 2010). The indexes are used as benchmarks by companies trading in a particular industrial spectrum. They measure performance of their portfolios.  Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), S&P 500, and the NASDAQ are common indexes used when carrying out technical analysis. Technical analysis employs the supply-demand philosophy in estimating the value and the competitiveness of a company in a particular industry. Generally, Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), S&P 500, and the NASDAQ do not provide same indexes in price directions. One can be up, the other unchanged and the other down depending on different markets factors. Usually, stock indexes refer to the highness or lowness of stocks traded on a certain markets or group of companies. A particular stock index can be limited to a particular group of companies serving a particular economic sector. For example Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) index may refer to a certain industry which is different from S&P 500 index.

Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA)

This is the oldest stock index known in the United States. Also referred to as industrial average, it indicates an index of how thirty large public corporations in the United States have traded their stocks in a particular standard stock exchange session in a securities market (Standard & Poor’s, 2005). The index is calculated by adding up all adjusted stock price of the Dow registered and listed companies (Teenvestor, 2008). When the industrial average goes up 100 points, this means that the average security prices in the DJIA went up by 100 dollars.

S&P 500

Industrial company technical analysis can take standard and poor’s 500 indexes to tell the movements of share prices in the market. This index involves companies listed by DJIA and more than 470 other companies (Teenvestor, 2008). Since the S&P 500 covers more companies than DJIA, it comprises of more businesses from all sectors than Dow.  This means not only large public companies but also small companies. The index is presented in terms of points and percentages.

NASDAQ

NASDAQ Composite index comprises of thousands of securities traded on NASDAQ stock exchange (Teenvestor, 2008). Particularly, it is stock exchange where smaller and not publicly known business securities are traded. Again, like the above indexes it is provided as percentages change or in terms of points change. For example, today NASDAQ is at 3000 points which is a 5% increase from the last year time like this.

Relationship between the three financial markets

            The relationship between Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), S&P 500, and the NASDAQ is much exhibited due to the composition of their markets. In most cases, when one index moves up, the other market moves up as well. In general, because Dow market comprise of large companies in the America, it incline not to respond to ups and downs as S&P 500 and the NASDAQ tend to (Standard & Poor’s, 2005). Essentially, though the three financial markets move up and down together, in some trading session the NASDAQ differ largely from S&P 500, and the Dow. Technology markets are volatile and NASDAQ composite comprises the technology sector companies that tend to influence its financial markets.

Conclusion

Most importantly, is to determine when to sell or buy securities. Technical analysis involving the three financial markets can be used to predict the movement of stock prices and the viable company’s stocks. Essentially, companies that seem to make huge profits in a particular financial period are likely to be trading on high stock prices and their field may exhibit different indexes based on Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), S&P 500, and the NASDAQ indexes.

According to him, ICT is advancing in technological relationship, which assists in moving information and delivering communication between either two or more parties in the same or different places. ICT is delivered through unique technological systems which work in three basic orders. These are tools that enable information storage, retrieval, communication and giving out information. They include tools such as; CD-ROMs, Application Software, and Local area networks. These tools work in collaboration to enable success in the ICT industry.

Information and Communication Technology, basically entails overall combination of telecommunication systems, which before were called the telephone communication system. This telephone communication system used cables, and with the advancement in the technology, there is availability of the internet and mobile phones which has changed the whole system and moved it up to greater levels. ICT is not basically mobile phones and the internet. It is a whole combination of both the audio, as well as the video spreading media. In addition, ICT also provides for the handing out and spreading of both the audio and video broadcasting.

ICT is also used to mean junction, which basically is a union to cut down in cost. It is achieved by combining audio, visual in a networked communication system manner, to make them all in one by a single cabling link via a computer. The major economic incentive is cost saving for it cuts down or rather eliminates telephone networking, which turns out to be expensive due to cables and staff for trucking the safety and many more other operating charges involved.

This is through everyday’s activity, which includes trade, relaxation as well as way of life. The one controlling fact about Information and Communication Technology is that it has some values, and these values are not free. There are losers and winners in the industry of Information and Communication Technology Information and Communication Technology. In losers, we have businesses which are thrown out of operations by the Information and Communication Technology, and in winners there are businesses which benefit immensely from the Information and Communication Technology Hughes, T. (1999). Example of losers is like the cable industry which supplied telecommunication landline fixed telephones. They were put out of business by the invention of mobile phones, and as winners, the manufacturing company for the mobile phones benefited. This has led to negative consequences for some stakeholders.

Information and Communication Technology has unified the world, making it become a global village, were people communicate effectively, and swiftly. In the society Information and Communication Technology has taken center stage. It is through Information and Communication Technology that language barrier has been outlived. Social sites such as the facebook, twitter, Skype among others have lessened the strain of communication between two or more parties. A demerit context in this Information and Communication Technology system today is that, the aged tend to find it hard to trying to understand the whole system. As the saying, “change is inevitable,” and it is as good as a rest. Much of that change is receiving challenge from some of the countries. This inability to adapt to the rapid changes in technology is as a result of some people not being in a position to adopt due to poverty, geographical location or lack of access to technology.

Nevertheless, it is evidently proven that, Information and Communication Technology is not as highly implemented in schools as much as it is done in the business arena Hughes, T. (1999). This comes with different theories from different people. There are those who argue that, Information and Communication Technology is costly to implement, and that it is expensive to put it in schools and have effective impact to the students. There are also those who argue that, due to the current system of education, to implement Information and Communication Technology is proving difficult due the direct involvement and contact of the teacher and the students. Those schools which have tried to use tools available for Information and Communication Technology have improved in their mode of education.  By so doing, it has uplifted the standards of the education within their institutions. This comes with three main benefits,

Providing Distance learning where students do not have to physically be in the same campus or school in order to receive the same lectures. With the Information and Communication Technology, information concerning learning material can be shared through the internet via the computers. This serves as a cost reduction incentive, and with it in place, such kind of institution will have improved in its service delivery

The other important aspect and which will be as a result of implementing Information and Communication Technology in schools and other learning institutions is it will increase networking opportunities. This will enable different schools to communicate easily and also the students will be in a better position to link between each other. This can be more effective in the developing countries and the students in the rural areas

The last benefit from implementing Information and Communication Technology in learning institution is that, it will supplement traditional learning methods. In this case, you find that students will adapt the rapid changes in technology. Students will use software’s such as Microsoft word, and do assignments which initially were done using hand. This turns out to be more fast and effective.

 

As a result of successful integration of the Information and Communication Technology in the leaning institution, there are several challenges, as well as benefits. By making Information and Communication Technology in learning environment, there will be an increased access to resources. Traditionally, as soon as the lessons were over, students used to go home as their respective classrooms remained closed. With the Information and Communication Technology, this has changed, and students have a lot to learn through the internet even after lessons McConnell, D. (1998).

Another benefit of implementing Information and Communication Technology is that it creates a centered leaning for the students. By this students tend to be in control of their learning objectives. Students have the opportunity to decide on how to present materials in class. For instance by using Microsoft power point presentation, this will enable students to have a free discussion, which at the end facilitates effective learning.

Unlike the commonly known method of lectures delivered verbally, with less demonstration and practical’s, with Information and Communication Technology, students are in a position to interact with each other. By this, the students will share what they have learned, making it interactive learning experience. Eventually, it has increased access to those students with special needs, such as slow learners and the disabled. It is also effective for the institutions in developing countries.

Apart from Information and Communication Technology being all mans cake; it also has its downfalls, or rather shortcomings. One major disadvantage of Information and Communication Technology is its initial cost. By implementing Information and Communication Technology into a current learning environment, it comes with high costs. This is because the current infrastructure will have to be updated in order to accommodate the new ICT infrastructure. Another cost associated with this is the need to u grade on the teaching material as well as human labor and teaching methodology McConnell, D. (1998).

Despite all the goodness with the Information and Communication Technology, school administrators have second thoughts on whether to fully integrate Information and Communication Technology in their learning environment due to uncertainty success rate. Also as a shortcoming of Information and Communication Technology, some current teachers are not fully acquainted with full knowledge of how to undertake certain topics about Information and Communication Technology. Therefore this calls for extra teacher training, turning out to be costly to the institution. But nevertheless, there is requirement of new training Information and Communication Technology teachers

Conclusion

In a nutshell, Information and Communication Technology holds the key to the future generations’ success. It is therefore mandatory for implementation and integration of Information and Communication Technology into the existing learning environment, for it has more benefits than disadvantages. The HPV Vaccine

Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) affects close to eighty percent of people and commonly clears by itself. However, some people fail to clear the virus from their reproductive organs which leads to vagina, cervical and vulvar cancer in women as well as genital warts in male and females. This can be transmitted to others through genital contact such as through sexual intercourse (Legato, 564). HPV-16 is sixty percent sexually transmitted and Gardasil is effective in safeguarding against this strain.  Carrying out routine pap tests is essential to screen out cervical cancer. This paper aims to explore the efficiency of Gardasil in protecting against HPV types 6, 11, 16, 18 and ultimately question its application for the sake of public health as part of the global debate. In my opinion, Gardasil is effective in protecting against the said HPV types and should be embraced as a vaccine particularly against cervical cancer. This decision has been influenced by epidemiological studies that have particularly demonstrated that its benefits outweigh the dangers.

Gardasil

Gardasil  is a quadrivalent recombinant vaccine vaccine by Merck & Co. that is applied to protect four types of HPV that includes type 6, 11, 16, 18 (Markowitz et al. pr 1). Merck recommends a compulsory vaccination for school girls aged eleven, which has triggered a controversial debate. However, critics points out that the mandate is not necessary since some individuals have self clearance potential, it could overburden the current health programs and its not necessary since the long-term effect of the vaccine is still in question. On the same note, if the mandate was sex specific it would be questioned constitutionally and most importantly, the vaccine cannot entirely eliminate HPV. Gardasil is administered as three 0.5ml intramuscular injections within a period of six months. The second injection is administered 2 months following the first one while the third one at four months following the second dose.  The vaccine contains proteins of the four HPV strains, an aluminum adjuvant, yeast protein, sodium chloride, L-histidine, sodium borate and polysorbate 80 (FDA pr.3; Barnacle et al. 4).

Research Studies

After a five years follow-up conducted by Pubmed in ten cases that were vaccinated with Gardasil from different parts of the world, the study concluded that Gardasil decreased precancerous cervical, vulvar and vaginal lesions linked to HPV 16, 18 and condylomas linked with HPV 6 and 11 (Ansstasiou-Fotaki et al. pr.1).  According to the National Cancer Institute, the vaccine has been approved to “Prevent 100 percent of the precancerous cervical cell changes caused by the types of HPV targeted by the vaccine for up to 4 years after vaccination among women who are not infected at the time of vaccination” (Markowitz et al. pr 1). Gardasil is also demonstrated to be about thirty eight percent effective in cervical cancer that result from ten other HPV types.

In the U.S, thirty women are diagnosed with cervical cancer daily while eleven die as a result. This adds up to approximately twelve thousand women being diagnosed and about four thousand die annually as a result of cervical cancer in the US. Being the second prevalent cancer in women, four hundred are diagnosed while about two hundred and thirty three die annually in the whole world (FDA pr. 5).

From a study of about twenty one thousand females for assessment of the effectiveness of the vaccine, prior to FDA approval, half were given the control while the other half the vaccine. From this particular research, females who had not had prior HPV infection type 6, 11, 16 and 18 showed that the vaccine was effective in protecting against precancerous lesions, which later become cervical, vulva and vaginal cancers as well as safeguarding against genital warts arising from the types of HPV stated  (FDA pr. 4).

In 2009, the Journal of American association (JAMA)  study indicated that about 12, 424 individuals reported having experienced the side effects of the vaccine where 772 of them reported severe effects i.e. 6.2% while the rest (11,652) i.e. 93% reported mild ones (FDA pr10). Another study conducted by Villa et al. in 2006 indicated that a sum of 552 women aged sixteen to twenty three were vaccinated at the first, second and sixth months. After three years they were examined gyenacologically and underwent various HPV tests including a biopsy. A subset of 241 cases was subjected to a further two years follow-up study. It was noted that the HPV types targeted by the vaccine declined by 96% in the recipients. Besides, no HPV type targeted by the virus was noted to cause infection in the recipients. The efficacy was noted to be 100 percent. Therefore, from this study, the vaccine Gardasil is effective for prevention of the noted infections and cancers hence the study advocates for vaccination of young women (Villa et al. pr. 1).

A different study published in the Multiple Sclerosis Journal, also was noted that although vaccination was regarded as safe in individuals with Multiple Sclerosis, a five patients study indicated ‘multifocal or atypical demyelinating syndromes’ twenty one days after vaccination with Gardasil. These demyelinating cases could be linked to immune-stimulatory characteristics of HPV virus-like substances in the vaccine, although the study was inconclusive (Sutton et al. pr. 1).

Introduction

            The relationship between the slaves and their slave owners was mostly with dislike since the slaves resisted acknowledging their identity as slaves, while the slave owners had to control their slaves and use them as their human property. The outcome of such a relationship is that the slave owners focused on controlling their human property while the American slaves focused on creating a culture that would allow them to survive as human property.

Slave owners used various means to control their human property including the restriction of legal rights, citizenship and literacy. These restrictions implied that the American slaves were literally prohibited from engaging in any activity that would free them as slaves and remained a human property to the slave owners. Slave owners also used slave patrol to monitor their slave behaviors. Slave patrol meant that their activities were being monitored and that slave owners made sure that they engaged in their tasks as human properties. Use of punishment was also used by the slave owners to control their human property. Common forms of punishment included Colonial mutilation vs. antebellum whipping. The main reasons for controlling their human property included the elimination of cases associated with resistance and revolt; ensure that the slave culture did not gain popularity and ensuring that the slaves performed their duties as required by their masters.

On the other hand, slaves focused on creating a culture that facilitated their survival as human properties. This was achieved through family and marriage, which was recognized but not legal. Family and marriage helped in strengthening unity among the slaves and hence their survival. Additionally, there was inward resistance from the slaves because majority of them did not identify themselves as being slaves. The cabin culture adopted by the slaves also enhanced their survival as human property because it facilitated the preservation of African cultural traits and interrelationships among the slaves. Religion also enhanced their perseverance, since it created a promise of heavenly afterlife after the suffering of earthly life sustained slaves through hard times.

            The author provides an insight in the transforming city of Dubai. The city has spectacular business malls- the bests in the Middle East. They are designed in a very spectaculars way to attract customers and this has seen the city become the best destination for people who want to shop. The number of malls being put up is increasing making the business of malls to risk over-saturation. The city has both small and big malls that serve the communities in the city. The design of the malls is also anchored on the historical themes which add magnificent architecture to them.

Business in Dubai employs different strategies in attracting clients.  Businesses yarn to expand and record higher profits. To attract and lure customer into buying their products, they use advertisements dominated by seductive slogans and images. Furthermore, the authors argue that, not all these spectacular buildings attract customers or are intended for the purposes of trading. Some of them are used as meeting and relaxing points.  The author arguments is that even with the spectaculars building, consumers will not be lured into blindfold purchasing of products in this capitalist exploitation city.

The author used a descriptive research methodology in his research. The author reviewed other people studies on the topic of discussing enabling him get a different points of view. This approach has enabled him to systematically come up with research findings that can be relied upon in gaining understanding about the city of Dubai. The author also referenced or used theoretical frameworks in explaining the behaviors of the consumers in the town. The fact that these malls are attractive and offer luxury products to the customers, does not means that customers will buy these products blindfold.

In summary, the author through the article provides the readers with a clear picture of what the city of Dubai is. He is engrossed with the design and architecture that has be used in the construction of malls. The business in malls has expanded with most designs borrowing on the historical designs which make the city to be spectaculars. Businesses are thriving using all sorts of advertisements in attracting clients to buy their products.  However, the malls, even though spectaculars, have not affected the behaviors of the consumers. For instance, in Ibh Batuta mall-one of the spectacular malls, consumers or mall visitors  are not lured to buying unnecessary items as they are not  triggered by the these appeals[1]. Therefore, the author Elsheshtawy argues that Dubai spectacular architectures should not be understood at phase value but it should be understood beyond what the world thinks about it.

In evaluation of the authors’ article, I agree that the author carried out enough research on the topic. The authors’ elaborates his findings and uses examples that exist. He further, brings varied views and suggestion from different scholars that have carried out studies on the city of Dubai. Furthermore, the author work is credible as he has cited other researcher’s works. This therefore, makes the work authoritative and reliable. The researcher has also presented his own views about the research. For instances, after engaging in a research, he provides his own perspective/views on the topic. He is opposed to the views by some researchers that the spectaculars malls trigger or lure customers into buying products/items that they have not planned to buy.

On the other hand, the article has some weaknesses. One of the weaknesses is failure of the researcher to explain the research methodology that he used in gathering of his data. Different research methods have advantages and disadvantages and vary with the nature of the information that is collected. Furthermore, research methodologies enable the research to be organized triggering quick understanding. By analyzing and comparing the views from different researchers and studies and presenting his own view on the topic, the researcher has demonstrated the best ways in which researches needs to be conducted.  Future researchers should endeavor to carry out an intensive research that should bring some insights to the topic under study and avoid digression or going outside the topic under study.  However, there is something that needs to be done in the research; the topic under investigation should be precise and insightful. It should provide extensive information on other areas under study.

In general, the author has tried to provide insights on the spectacle of Dubai urban. It is not just the building that dictates or controls people but their conscience and motivations are the ones that guide them in their life’s including shopping.             Web 2.0 is a tool connected to web applications that enable user-centered design, dissemination of information, interoperability and collaboration in World Wide Web. Sites developed using this tool allow interaction of users in social media. It enables exchange of ideas between users. Social networking sites, blogs wikis, video sharing hosted services are examples of web 2.0.

Web 2.0 has the ability to transform business operations by offering gains and creating user feedback a basic part of business growth. However, majority of businesses are shunning away from this technology, not knowing how it can suit their business.  It has a greater influence on businesses that force consumers to make online purchases. Examples include the social networking, bookmarks, RSS news feeds, blogs and wikis. Many software developers namely Microsoft have opted to market their products to the web-based application market. In addition the success of Google Apps is attributed to the impact of web 2.0. Hosted applications also depend heavily on web 2.0.

The implementation of web 2.0 has been of great advantage to large companies that have large volume of data and sophisticated operations. Initially, the user experience of the tool was restricted, hence people shifted to the conventional software development using windows. Large business use web 2.0 tool as part of their interior software development, to advance complexity and usability of their end user product.

Web 2.0 has advantages attributed to it such as easier to market product to wider area, and within a short time. This is due to the internet that has reduced the world to a global village. It also enables firms to offer web enabled complex applications. Most commercial websites developed allow customers to give feedback, hence the business improve on the quality of their product.

However, the limitations also exist. Web 2.0 cannot offer similar security as habitual server-oriented software. Consequently, clients have realized that a variety of web 2.0 applications have no access to file server on the client. This has forced them to move back to former windows environment (Magill, 2007). Despite the fact that web 2.0 is user friendly, lightweight and reduces operational costs, the user can end up with disorganized data, which is disastrous and hard to recover. Another associated disadvantage of web 2.0 is the danger of sharing information outside firewall.

In conclusion, web 2.0 is a better technological advancement. If used efficiently, it can result to growth of a business. It has cultural problems not technical. It simplifies life and quickens its usage saving time.             There has been increased concern about employer’s need to safeguard private information, company assets, and evade costly legal actions and employee’s workplace privacy.  Employers have a role to play in ensuring employees are utilizing company time productively and not engaging in creation of legal liability for their business (Turnbull, 2009). Employers have security apprehension associated to deliberate or accidental sending of insightful data via the internet. As such employers have to scrutinize employees’ computer and manage their internet access.  As result, there are policies that are linked to managing the employees’ workplace privacy.

First, there is the federal privacy legislation in the workplace.  Many US employees believe that they are constitutionally allocated privacy. These constitutional rights were deduced by the US fourth amendment rights to freedom.  These freedoms only pertain to state actions. State actions are only narrowed to safeguard privacy for government employees. Employees in the private sector have a burden to source their own protection. Secondly, the state privacy case law is well known by many States, it defines employee privacy as deliberate interference, physically or in mind upon isolation. Some employees have been using this policy as a protection tool to have their own privacy.  Thirdly, the company’s electronic policy advocates that all communication devices are made available and owned by the company. Additionally, the company has to supervise internet and email usage and the company shall have copies of passwords. This policy prohibits sending of unprofessional, discriminatory and offensive content. Posting of private opinions on the internet using company’s name is forbidden.

Other employers have considered the monitoring software as the best option for controlling employee privacy. These softwares are capable of revealing the degree of computer usage in all aspects. It is critical for employees to balance the employee’s usage of company’s technology and the risks related in providing them.

As much as these policies stand out to be protecting employers against company’s resource management, they are expensive and deprive employee his own personal privacy at work.  These policies tend to promote employee harassment by the employer. They also confine workers to their tasks. Despite the fact that workers are supposed to work and ensure the success of the company, they need personal freedom. It is only a selfish company that will not provide the slightest opportunity for the growth of its employers. To an extent, employees should be given a chance to use company’s resource for legal use and communication purposes.

            Sporting heroes of late find more air space on most of the national television and media in general. Most of these heroes despite their prowess and talents, they have their own weaknesses and just like any other human being and are not perfect per sie in their other parts of their lives. The question of whether these heroes should be used as models of good behavior is a question of debate. It is true that these sporting heroes play a crucial role in modeling good behavior and in nurturing young talents. This paper discusses who a role model is, whether sports heroes should be responsible to their own sports and whether these sports heroes have a special responsibility to behave well in their general lives as sports heroes.

A role model is a person whose behavior is emulated or copied by others that deem the behavior to be right and beneficial to them. For example, many sporting heroes are good role models for young people who have an interest in the same sports they play. Most teens and young children refer to these iconic sports heroes in nurturing their own talents. Therefore, there is likelihood that some of the behaviors of these heroes might by transcended to the teens. According to Rick (2011), higher standards exhibited in athletics are because of the perceptions by teens and young children that these professional athletics serves as their role models. This, therefore, demonstrates awareness that indeed these heroes have some influence to the teens and young children.

Sports hero’s responsibility should not only be to their sports. According to Fish (2009), these heroes are the making of the society and are important public figures with the potential of influencing the behaviors of teens and young children. Therefore, they should be able exhibit good behavior and return back the fruits to the society which helped to mould them and make them reach the far they have gone. Behaviors demonstrated by heroes has propensity of becoming public and thereby these heroes besides acting responsibly on camera, there entire life should be acceptable by the larger society.  For instance, Tiger Wood Saga demonstrated lack of respect to family and marriage and this showed a bad image to the entire society. It could be wise for him to move around institutions preaching and educating the coming generations on the virtues of the marriage institutions in order to instill good morals to the teens. Therefore, it is important that these sports heroes take responsibility in whatever behaviors they engage in to avoid misleading the society. They have the potential of instilling good behavior in the teens and young children if they take responsibility both in their sports and in their entire lives.

These sports heroes too have the responsibility to behave well. It is through behaving well that the society in general will respect them and even act as models of good behaviors for the coming generations. According to Boock (2011), all the sporting heroes need to demonstrate righteousness and decency. Their entire lives should be virtuous and decency without comprise. For instance, the angry outburst by Serena Williams in the US one woman’s final games was a let down to the young boys and girls viewing her as their role model (Boock, 2011, p. 3). Such incidences matter a lot to these upcoming heroes and it might affect their ambitions.

In conclusion, it also beats logic to expect these heroes to behave in the way we want yet they come from the same societies and communities we come from; they behave the same way we do. It is therefore, appropriate for the society in entirety to mold good behaviors’ and be a role model to their children rather than expecting the heroes to demonstrate good behaviors. the parents and the society at large have the responsibility of ensuring that their children grow up  with good virtues so that when they are heroes they also demonstrates good behavior and act as good models. There is no way the society can expect the heroes to behave differently, if they have not inculcated in them good morals and virtues. Therefore, both the society and the sports heroes have a great task of ensuring that those heroes exhibit good behaviors to act as role models of others. Needless to say, sports heroes have the obligation to behave well in all facets of their lives for them to act as good role models and ambassadors of good virtue due to their popularity and fame.

            In his pamphlet, “modest proposal,” Jonathan Swift provides solutions to poor Irish people with children. The proposal, seeks to provide insight information on how problems that parents faces can be dealt with and solved. Therefore, the proposal ironically attempts to find a cheap, fair and easy method of ensuring that these poor children become useful members of the society.

The proposal enumerates the agony and the problems that the poor faces in Irish. This is clearly depicted in the cities where groups of women with their children crowd in the town to beg from the passersby.  The roads, streets and cabin doors in the country are flooded with poor people languishing instead of working for an honest livelihood. These children eventually grow up to become thieves in their quest to work and sustain their lives.
