 Use your creativity with this dialogue and develop the points of view of the characters involved. The following questions must be addressed and serve as a basis for grading this assignment:

In what type of situations might the selected company run a high risk of violating antitrust laws? How might the government react to assure fair competition within the company’s given market?

In what ways might the selected company create a benefit externality? In what ways might it create a cost externality? How might the government respond to the externalities created by the selected company?

In what situation would the selected company likely consider a merger with one of the other companies on the list? What risks and benefits would a possible merger present? How might the government respond to the merger? Would the two companies merge? Explain why or why not.

Case: Fraser Office Supplies

Evaluate the marketing strategies of Fraser Office Supplies (FOS). What are the major strengths and weaknesses?

Case requirement:

Construct detailed and specific answers to the case questions, and provide meaningful, feasible, and specific suggestions or recommendations. Provide analyses instead of repeating what is stated the case. Even when you are summarizing the points in the case, use your own words instead of copying the facts in the case; organize all your points into categories instead of listing them according to the sequence of their appearance in the case. Avoid unhelpful statements, e.g., “the company should conduct more marketing research.” Rather, you should state how this can be done. Your recommendations should address the problems or issues you have identified and analyzed earlier. Think about how your recommendations will help solve the problems or help the company to enhance its business.

It’s a complete example for TCP simple application, called “Score Service”, which can be used for developing networked computer games. It consists of client and server programs. The server maintains a high scores list, and the client reads and adds scores to the list. In this implementation, the server is threated, enabling it to process multiple clients at the same time. Have a practice with this TCP application. You may create two “commands” windows, one for server and another for client.
List all the Java classes, provided by Java 1.6 API from the following link,

Task 1: Wireless Wide Area Networks (6 marks)

Using the Internet online services, learn the basic knowledge about wireless wide area network technologies, particularly for mobile phone and data services, and answer the following questions:

  1. What is the concept of a cellular network or system? Give a network example to illustrate this concept.
  2. What are the key differences between the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) network and the 3rd generation mobile telecommunications (3G) network standardized by 3GPP in their architecture?
  3. What are the radio transmission technologies used for the GSM and the 3G network in the physical layer respectively? What data rate can each network support?
  4. What is the facility used to achieve the mobility management (or roaming) in the GSM network? Does the 3G network use the same mobility management system equipped in the GSM?

Task 2: IP addresses allocation (4 marks)

A large number of consecutive IP addresses are available starting from 198.16.0.0. Suppose that four organizations, A, B, C and D, request 4000, 2000, and 4000, and 8000 addresses, respectively, and in that order. For each of these, give the first IP address assigned, the last IP address assigned, and mark in the  w.x.y.z/s notation (for example, 135. 46.56.0/22).

Task3: Subnet a network (5 marks)

Assume that you have purchased the IP network 213.45.32.0/20 from APNIC. Subnet this network so that all of the broadcast domains shown in the below diagram are allocated individual subnets. Create a table with the following headings which lists the subnets that you have created:

  • Location: e.g. LAN 1
  • Subnet Identity
  • Netmask
  • Range of Usable IP Addresses: give the range of usable IP addresses on this subnet, e.g. 1.2.0.1 to 1.2.0.254

In a separate table, allocate suitable IP addresses for every router and stations A, P and X. Remember, every port on a router has its own IP address. Allocate your own port numbers for each router. Do not put an IP address on Router 2’s port connected to the Internet, as it will get an IP address on this port from your ISP. Write the table out with the following headings:

  • Device: e.g. A, or Router 1 port 0.
  • IP Address

(Notes: the number of stations for each LAN is important for your answer now.)

Task 4: Routing with Packet Tracer (5 marks)

 Using the IP addresses from your subnetting, build the above diagram as shown in Packet Tracer. You will create and save a Packet Tracer scenario file in this task. Make sure that all devices and physical connections are represented in your scenario. Give the Internet, indicated in the diagram, the IP address of 131.200.0.0/16, and give Router 2’s Internet port the IP address 131.200.1.1/16.

Ensure that stations A, P and X can send packets to each other and to the Internet.

After you have investigated the questions, using a word processor, write a report to explain your findings and describe how your sport uses the concepts of physics that have been discussed throughout this course. Your report needs to include the answers found through your investigation and a works cited page listing the sources that you used to conduct your investigation. Be sure to format your works cited page properly and use correct MLA in-text citations in your report as described in the lesson discussion. Here are the questions: 1. What is the history of your sport? When and by whom was it invented? How much has it changed since it was first invented? (3 points) Soccer is one of the most well-known activities in the European countries. Some proof of soccer being a big activity is that during the Han Empire, people dribbled leather balls and throw them into a small net. Documented information also says that Romans and Greeks used to play with soccer balls for fun and to perform. Also, some information point to that in Asia, playing with soccer balls was a well-known game. There are lots of beliefs around who invented soccer; however lots of people agree that it was inspired by a game in China called ‘cuju’. It has changed a lot since it has been first invented, now modern days they play it but the ball is bigger and has air in it, while early times it was a leather ball. Also, nowadays the net is bigger than when it was invented and now it has a set of rules. 2. Describe the objects in motion in your sport. Do people move around a lot? Do they move in straight lines or do they change directions? Is a ball or other object the focal point of the game? (3 points) In the early times, soccer didn’t have any rules, the only aim was to get the ball in the target spot and many things like kicking, punching, biting was allowed. In the game, people move a lot and they also change direction. The focal point of the game was the ball and the main aim was to get it in the net. 3. What two things must be measured to determine the average speed of an object? Design a way to measure the average speed of a moving person or object in the sport. Describe how the athlete controls this speed. (3 points) To measure the average speed of the object, you have to measure the distance/time. To measure the average speed of a moving person, you’ll have to measure the distance he walked or ran and divide it by the time he took. The athlete can control this speed by measuring it before he starts moving and maintains a constant speed. 4. Review the definition of work. Try to identify and describe at least two examples of an action in which work is done in your sport. Remember, the force and distance moved must be in the same direction. What information would you need to calculate the amount of work done? (3 points) Work is the transfer of energy that occurs when a force makes an object move. One type of work in my sport is to make an object move; in my sport the person makes the soccer ball move. The second type of work is that the movement should be in the same direction as the force, in my sport the player kicked the ball and the ball goes in the same direction as the movement. To calculate the amount of work, I’ll need to know the force and the energy used. 5. Find at least one example of each of Newton’s laws of motion in your sport. Describe each example as clearly as possible. (3 points) In my sport soccer, Newton’s first law of motion is used. Newton’s first law of motion states that an object moving at a constant velocity keeps moving at that velocity unless an unbalanced net force acts upon it, and when the object is at rest it stays at rest unless an unbalanced net force acts on it. In soccer the ball is at rest until the player kicks it and when he kicks it, it stays moving until another player kicks it. 6. Find at least one example of energy transfer in your sport. Describe in detail how energy is transferred and conserved. (2 points) Energy transfer is the transfer of energy from one object or material to another. In my sport soccer, the player transfers energy to the ball. And energy is conserved, when the player isn’t kicking the ball. 7. Find at least one example of the use of simple machines in your sport. Describe which simple machine is being used and how it changes the effort force needed by the athletes. (3 points) A simple machine is a machine that does work with only one movement of the machine. In my sport soccer, the simple machine is the player and the only one movement is him kicking the ball.
