The purpose of the negotiation analysis paper is to help you transfer the negotiation concepts from the course to negotiations in your own organization. I would like you to use concepts learned in the course to analyze a negotiation situation. The negotiation may be one that has recently concluded, or one that you are in the midst of right now. It may be a negotiation between organizations or within an organization. It may be a dyadic negotiation or one with multiple parties. It may be a situation of chronic conflict.

Your task is to analyze the situation using the concepts from the course in 8 – 10 double-spaced typed pages (not including the cover and reference pages).  You must have a cover page and a reference page formatted according to APA, 6th edition. Spend no more than three pages describing the situation. Spend the bulk of your time and words on an analysis of the negotiation. Be careful to select a negotiation that is complex enough to challenge your analytical skills. For example, buying a car is probably not a good choice for a paper topic; neither is a negotiation in which you did everything right.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

1. To research and evaluate a Risk Management plan suitable for managing  risks in logistics.
2. To identify the appropriate methodology to examine and obtain data from the client’s sample.
3. To analyse the findings from my research and find evidence to support the building of a plan.
4. To produce a plan, report and recommendation for my client based on the outcome of the research data and analyses.
5. To get the Client’s evaluation to know whether the research conforms to the company’s objectives on the subject of study.
6. To critically evaluate the research and entire project to identify areas for future research.
7. To finally produce a dissertation.

For example, the late Robert Altman used overlapping dialogue, large ensemble casts, and improvisation to create his films and you could cite A Prairie Home Companion, Nashville, etc.  OPTION 2 – Make a short film  Requirements: Must be five minutes minimum in length. If you work in pairs or teams, it must be five minutes per person – e.g. two people = 10 minute film You must also be prepared to show this film in class on April 2 and lead a brief discussion on it – e.g. what did you learn from the process? What was your inspiration? Etc.  I also need a copy of it to grade.   YOUR CHOICE, but I need to know by FEBRUARY 5 what you plan to do. Thank you!

First, present the argument that is presented in the passage.  You may give a sentence or two of introduction and then give it in standard form, or you can use regular prose as you would for most papers.  Do what you are comfortable with and what you think will lead to you giving the argument most clearly and concisely.  Second, you are to give the best argument you can in response to the argument you just presented, i.e. give a critical argumentative response.  Usually this will either be an argument that one of the premises is false (your coclusion would likely be the denial, or logically equivalent to it, of the premise in question), or an argument that shows there is a structural flaw or some other fallacy present in the argument.  It should not be an argument that concludes with the denial of the conclusion of the argument you present in the first part.

Requirements are to provide a MINIMUM 2-page report  answering the following:

Introduction – introduces the name of the virus, does the name of the virus tell you about its purpose, the types of virus’ selected, the source of your information, the year/date the virus originated,  etc.

Body – How did the viruses differ, how did the virus’ travel/affect the computer, how many businesses/persons were affected, what are potential symptoms of the virus, how much damage (in dollars) was caused by the virus is their still a risk out there? What is the solution to disinfect/remove, was there a work-around solution? How wide-spread was the virus?

Conclusion – What interested you about these viruses, were you affected by them or no anyone that was?

Answer the above question by constructing a clear thesis. The thesis equals your main claim or assertion, along with supporting claims that make the overall argument compelling. To substantiate your argument and defend your position, you must engage with the required readings from weeks 6, 7, and 8. Specifically, you must balance your analysis and your voice with a mix of interwoven key quotes and paraphrasing, but you may also quote the lectures and films from weeks 6-8. To frame your analysis or provide historical context, you may also utilize earlier week’s readings and class material in addition to, but not in lieu of weeks 6-8. Do not use block quotes. Do not use any sources from outside of this class, and do not refer to current events or personal experiences.
To answer the paper question, it may be helpful to consider the following: immigration; eugenics; ethnicity and assimilation; white identity and American culture; race and politics; social, educational, and residential segregation. Try to explain why fears of race mixing and cultural contamination determined–and how racial ideology justified–the inclusion of certain groups and the exclusion or separation of others. Technical Requirements/Formatting Directions:
Each reading quoted or paraphrased must be cited in an endnote (at the end of the body of the text, not at the bottom of each page). No parenthetical citations after sentences, and no bibliography/works cited/references page. Endnote citations must include the author’s last name, and the title and page number of the source (article or book chapter). Papers must be typed in 12-point Times font, and double-spaced with one-inch margins on all sides of each page. Papers must have a separate title page with an original paper title and subtitle, your name, and course number. Each page must be numbered except title page, and papers must be stapled.
