Social Class and unemployment: relationship to crime?.

This research paper is for Fourth Year Criminology Course.
Your research paper will integrate course concepts, theories, and ideas. For this essay you are required to pick one topic and conduct your own research.  You are required to conduct further literature reviews on this topic to draw your own conclusions / argument on the importance of the issue.
The essay must not exceed 15 pages (not including references). Your paper will consist of the following elements:

Introduction to problem of interest – 1 – 1.5 pages
Developing the topic– what is your research topic, the value and relevance of the topic,    4-5 pages. (This is your literature review section).
Presentation of findings – this is where you will present your findings and main     argument. You will discuss the relevance of your findings to the research question     5- 6 pages.
Conclusion – summarize your main findings and connect back to the research topic. In     this section you may make policy recommendations. 2 – 3 pages.
References – You are required to use a minimum of 7 academic sources and not more     than 3 of the assigned academic readings. You may also use non-academic sources such     as newspaper articles.

soil testing

You are a graduate student working on your doctorate in Biology. You are very happy that you were awarded an internship at a very prestigious environmental testing company, TestsAreUs. You are assigned to work with a well-known researcher, Dr. Knowitall. Her firm conducts soil sample tests in environmentally sensitive areas. She is currently working with a wealthy developer on a land development project called “Genesis.” This land project will also allow a large expansion of TestAreUs’s current lab facilities, which the developer is providing free-of-charge.
She asks you to run some tests on soil samples obtained from the Genesis project land. You are alarmed to find that many of the soil samples contain several dangerous toxins such as arsenic that exceed acceptable levels for safety.

You are positive that you are testing this right. You approach Dr. Knowitall with your concerns…she tells you “well, sometimes we have to hide our results a bit…we really need those new lab facilities.”

What would you do in this situation – What approaches could help resolve the situation?

Precision – Does the paper address the question(s) or task(s)?
Breadth – Is the full breadth of the subject, i.e., the Keys to the Assignment, addressed?
Depth – Does the paper address the topic in sufficient depth and include the background readings and other background resources as references?
Critical thinking – Is the subject thought about critically, i.e., accurately, logically, relevantly, and precisely?

Your paper will be evaluated based on the rigor of your assessment of each of the above seven (7) sources. Be sure that you give as many reasons as you can as to why each source is a scholarly source or a non-scholarly source. Do not give bullet points, but write formally (in full sentences).
Be sure that you properly cite all of the above sources as end references (see the Purdue OWL site for proper APA referencing of websites).
