Write a research paper that analyzes and explains the formal analysis on Edgar Degas’s “The Dancers”, 1898

Find two additional scholarly secondary sources that will help you to research the work of art. Some museums give a bibliography for objects in their collections, however, do not assume these sources will be online and therefore do acquaint yourself with the Art and Architecture library in the lower level of Watt Hall. You may use an assigned reading (but not the textbook!) and I also strongly suggest JSTOR for scholarly articles.

Write a research paper that analyzes and explains the work you have chosen. Integrate your own observations about the work (a formal analysis of the work and your thoughts about your encounter with it), along with the primary and secondary sources that will help you understand the context and other scholarly questions about the object. Remember to cite your sources!

Make sure to write a cohesive analysis with a thesis statement and well-organized paragraphs (with topic sentences) that develop your points.

How does heparin and Warfarin work in assessing for pain when giving the Acetaminophen?

Lillian fell when she was returning from the bathroom after the suppository. The nurse found her sitting on the floor complaining of pain on the left side of her rib cage. The nurse called for help and assisted Lillian back to bed. She notified the physician and completed the necessary reports. The physician ordered a follow up chest X-ray that came back WNL. Lillian had a small bruise on her rib cage but no fracture. The physician gave the nurse the following orders over the phone.

Acetaminophen 325 mg po every 4 hours as needed for pain
Zolpidem 5 mg po at bedtime for sleep

How would the nurse assess Lillian’s pain, and when would the nurse assess for pain when giving the Acetaminophen?
How does Zolpidem work? Be sure to include drug category, mechanism of action, onset and duration of action, and safety considerations.
The following morning the cardiologist came to consult on Lillian’s case and left orders for anticoagulation because of Lillian’s chronic irregular heartbeat from atrial fibrillation. Dr. B left the following orders for anticoagulation.

Heparin 5,000 Units SQ every 12 hours
Warfarin 2.5 mg po daily for a target INR of 2.5
APTT, PT, and INR now and then every morning

How does heparin work? Be sure to include drug category, mechanism of action, onset and duration of action, and safety considerations.

Investigate current practices to Implement and monitor environmentally sustainable work practices

Task/Question
You have been asked by your manager to implement a number of environmental sustainable practices for your current workplace. In particular you are asked to investigate:
• current usage of paper;
• type of paper purchased;
• the suppliers that the business deals with; and
• environmental regulations that impact your business.
From your investigation you will introduce performance improvement strategies for minimising usage and sourcing environmentally friendly paper; monitoring measures; continual improvement; and green procurement in accessing suitable suppliers.
You may choose to investigate another resource such as electricity, chemicals, waste or water etc. if it is more applicable to your organisation.
Task one: Investigate current practices in relation to resource usage
a. Provide a brief overview of your workplace or home office (a short paragraph is sufficient).

b. Provide a brief description of the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 (POEO Act) and how it applies to business. You can directly access the objectives of the Act at: http://www.legislation.nsw.gov.au/maintop/view/inforce/act+156+1997+cd+0+N

c. Conduct an environmental review of paper usage in your workplace or home office by filling in the audit report (use ‘audit report’ in template supplied). This report should identify environmental impacts of using paper; the average monthly consumption; current purchasing practices; and any non-compliance.
Task two: Set targets for improvement
Looking at your audit report and using the ‘improvement in sustainability practices’ table in the template, include three areas of improvement. You must include possible strategies and actions to achieve the improvements; realistic objectives and targets to improve paper resource efficiency; and key personnel who assist in setting achievable improvement targets.

Task three: Implement performance improvement strategies
a. Before you implement your sustainable recommendations regarding paper usage, you are required to consult with other stakeholders. Write one paragraph setting out how you will seek suggestions and ideas about environmental and resource efficiency management from key personnel in your workplace, or external specialists. These suggestions may enhance your own ideas for improvement.

b. To apply the Waste management hierarchy in the workplace you need to demonstrate how your performance strategies will be implemented and who is responsible for their implementation. Use the ‘improvement in sustainability practices’ table in the template. Place the most preferred action first to the least preferred. Include tools and describe strategies that will measure and monitor the effectiveness of the recommended practices. (E.g. key personnel, training, support, communication methods).

c. To promote your sustainability practice, you must conduct a cost analysis for your manager. This table is also in your template.

COSTING ANALYSIS FOR PAPER
Improvement Strategy ORIGINAL USAGE ORIGINAL $ per unit ORIGINAL TOTAL $ PROJECTED USAGE PROJECTED $ per unit PROJECTED TOTAL $ SAVINGS $

Task four: Monitor Performance
a. Now that you have implemented improvements in paper usage, you need to evaluate, review and report to stakeholders on how effective the improvements have been. Use the ’review of performance strategies’ table in the template. You must include how you will review your methods; whether you met your sustainability performance outcomes; how you report outcomes; which stakeholders will get the review report; and who is responsible for the report.
b. How will you promote your success strategies within your workplace? Also consider how you can reward staff for following your recommendations. Can you suggest a system for staff to contribute their own ideas for sustainability?

Task five: Green procurement
Your manager is very happy with your recommendations and would like to enhance the image of the business by adopting a green procurement strategy.

Design a questionnaire that you can circulate to your suppliers. This questionnaire will allow your firm to compare potential and existing suppliers based on sustainable outcomes. You should include questions based on their products and services, packaging, and their own sustainable practices and policies. Your questionnaire should include at least 10 questions which allow your organisation to assess the viability of doing business with a supplier that also has sustainable initiatives.

Assessment checklist
I have:
• Used the template to answer the questions.
• Answered all five tasks in the assessment.
• Made a backup copy of my assessment onto my own computer.

Define and discuss a global strategy Management in Dynamic Environments

How do you define a global strategy?
Are there other international strategies, and how do they differ?
Identify a minimum of 3 possible countries and location options for globalization. Research each of these locations in the furniture industry, and document both the pros and cons of using these in global strategy.
What country would you choose? What evidence can you provide in support of your choice?
What evidence might somebody else, who does not agree with you, provide to support his or her choice?
What could you tell somebody else to show he or she is wrong?

What is the pourpose of Epidemiological and Socio- Behavioral Report On Puetro Ricans

Research and report the current epidemiological and behavioral issues among Puerto Ricans. The purpose of this report is to uncover (based on research) the major diseases that are affecting your population and the behaviors that your population is doing that are leading to the diseases. You can only use scientific research articles and/or from government websites. You should have specific heading and sub headings in your report.

Epidemiology report among Puerto Ricans:
• What are all of the diseases that affect your population and at what rates (percentages)?
1. I do not mean things like colds or allergies. I mean all of the serious diseases that are contributing to high morbidity and/or death in your populations.
• What are the diseases that are affecting your population the most?
1. You should identify the 2 or 3 diseases causing the most problems for your population; the priority diseases.
2. You may select the priority diseases based on the disease rate in the population

Socio Behavioral Influences among Puerto Ricans:
• Once you have identified your 2 or 3 priority diseases, use scientific and government references to report the risk factors that are increasing the likelihood that people are not only behavioral, but that can be environmental. They may also include things like education level, economic level, housing, climate, stress levels, discrimination, religiosity, etc. (risk factors can be a bunch of different things)
• Along with the risk factors, identify the protective factors in your population. Protective factors are things in your community that might decrease their chances of contracting or developing a disease. You should get your protective factors from your reference.

Is the internet hurting our connections and relationships in this new generation?

we cannot have a conversation in person, everyone is scared of talking to one another. The internet is alienating our own feelings. with online dating the computer choses everything for you , you hardly have a say. people can lie online. our generation is having difficulties meeting anyone in person, our population went from personal to impersonal, small to large circles. human contact is scarse- non existent. only chance of a genuine connection is thru web- which could be harmful.

writing should be personal and through my eyes as a worried perspective of this dating world how it has been dominated my web connections and the internet. how it is non genuine. from a point of view of worry. has to reference the book the peoples platform by astra taylor.

“It is hard to laugh at the need for beauty and romance, no matter how tasteless, even horrible, the results of that need are. But it is easy to sigh”Discuss.

• Read the brief thematic essay on surrealism in the Heilbrunn Timeline. (http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/surr/hd_surr.htm )
(Note that Freud used the word “unconscious”not “subconscious.”) This is a pretty sketchy summary of surrealist themes but it’s better than nothing. Make sure you look at the images.
• Read the first two chapters (only) of Nathaniel West’s The Day of the Locust. (http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks06/0609041.txt )This novel is set in Los Angeles in the 1930s and is a vivid depiction of Hollywood as a sun-drenched hell stuffed with desperate phonies and grotesques. Where the surrealists in Paris found dreamy poetry in the chance juxtapositions encountered on the street, in LA, West discovers the makings of a nightmare.
Reading response: Comment on this passage from West: “It is hard to laugh at the need for beauty and romance, no matter how tasteless, even horrible, the results of that need are. But it is easy to sigh. Few things are sadder than the truly monstrous.”
