Homelessness is a prevalent issue in the United States (Triplett).Discuss on the topic.

Working Title: “Panhandling: Help that Hurts”
Thesis: Among the methods used to combat homelessness, panhandling serves as the most ineffective and should be considered as inhibiting the issue’s progress rather than helping society to work toward its solution.
Introductory Rationale: Homelessness is a prevalent issue in the United States (Triplett). A common way that individuals can be seen as hoping to help those experiencing homelessness is through participating in an activity called “panhandling (Gomez).” Panhandling is the act of asking for money that holds capabilities of unrestricted use by homeless individuals (City of Bloomington). This exchange of unrestricted capital between an individual and a homeless person presents an issue due to the fact that it is very common that the funding received by the homeless individual will not contribute to their rehabilitation, rather, it will be used to feed an addiction such as alcoholism, drug abuse, or gambling (Gomez). This issue should be important to my audience due to the fact that it is a common misconception and can easily be stifled through education. Further, my audience should find interest in this issue because if they are proponents of the continuance of panhandling, they may find that they would rather give their funds in a more productive way; to a nonprofit or social service agency.

Concluding Rationale: Panhandling is not part of the cure; it is part of the issue (Gomez, City of Bloomington). With knowledge of my argument information, readers will find the ability to differentiate more successfully the philanthropic giving habits that are helpful from those who are simply enabling. Further, keeping in mind that my readers are probably Americans and will spend some amount of time in a metropolitan area, they are, in fact, the right individuals to put the new knowledge into action as they will no doubt interact with a homeless individual attempting to attain funds through panhandling. Although it may be uncomfortable to say “no” in the moment, my readers will have the peace of mind that by giving their philanthropic dollars to organizations that work toward the eradication of homelessness and help homeless individuals to overcome their addictions and other debilitating struggles, they are truly making a positive change in their community

Develop a summary of key research findings regarding the process and outcomes of nurse practitioner practice.

MARKETING FACT SHEET

Purpose of Assignment: The marketing fact sheet that you create in this assignment using research-based data will be an important tool for you to use to market the NP role. You can provide copies to prospective employers, bankers approached for small business loans, news reporters, your mother, patients, policy wonks – you get the idea. Make the facts sing for you – be creative! You will learn how to work these research facts into your everyday conversations, much to the dismay of your close friends.

Assignment: Develop a 3-4 page summary (minimum) of key RESEARCH findings regarding the process and outcomes of nurse practitioner practice. (Do NOT use articles about the NP role or describing the role. Find specific research articles OR the entire article will be deducted for 10 points.) Provide bulleted points of key findings with additional research information (e.g., sample size, sample health status, healthcare setting, specific outcomes, etc.). You must provide enough specific information about the study so the research findings are not vague and they can be understood in context. (See example below) Provide appropriate citations for each finding. Use complete sentences.

Requirement:
 Minimum of 10 separate research articles regarding NP practice must be cited (using APA format)

 Articles must be submitted used in the paper and will be returned to you if requested. (You may burn a CD with the articles as an option to turn in or provide DOI with link in uploaded copy.)

 Majority of key points must focus on patient outcomes related to NP practice (e.g., patient satisfaction, reduced incidence of hospitalization, improved health status, etc.)

 Also include focus on quality of care and cost-effectiveness of NP care (You must have articles that address these outcomes also.)

 You will lose points for bullet points that are too vague or too limited to be able to “understand” the study

 You will lose points if you write a narrative paper.

 Consider drawing the conclusion for the reader (see example below).
An example of brief overview of an article that addresses outcomes:

 A large randomized study of 3000 patients in public clinics was conducted in NYC. Patients were managed by NPs and physicians for 6 months measuring physiologic variables for HTN, diabetes, and asthma outcomes. Findings revealed essentially no difference between the two provider groups indicating competency of the NPs to manage these chronic illnesses as well as physicians (Mundinger, et al, 2000).

The psychological effect of the death of a parent on the bereaved adult

The psychological effect of the death of a parent on the bereaved adult

Results
The analysis section

Descriptive analysis should be carried out on the data collected using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS); the participants’ age should be presented using mean and standard deviation values, with the scores relating to type of relationship also being reported using frequencies and percentages. The TTBQ2-70 (two-track bereavement questionnaire; Rubin et al., 2011), generates an overall score, thus providing interval-level data and enabling parametric analysis. To assess the impact of loss, participants should be compared by gender using an independent-samples t-test. A Pearson correlation should be utilised to explore the relationship between the type of relationship and the impact of loss. An additional Pearson correlation should explore the association between age and impact of loss.

Results Explain in details

A.Impact of the loss in terms of anxiety and depression according to age:-
1. Results indicate that young adults 18-25 of ages engage in avoidance behavior (Moss et al, 2001).
2. Older adults (26- 60 of ages) feel strong guilt and regret that they didn’t do things differently and the feelings that accompany the loss of a parent are a reflection of the sense of letting go (Shaw, 2007). The result also indicates that older adults were more anxious rather than being depressed as a result of the loss of a parent.

B.Impact of the loss in terms of anxiety and depression according to gender:-
1. The gender differences the results indicated that female shows greater difficulties as reported by bereaved adult.
2. Male tend to suffer from functioning difficulties as they are anxious.
3. Both male and female indicated greater level of change as life seems very different since the loss. Also, the meaning of life and of the world around has changed greatly.

C.Psychological states of the bereaved adult after bereavement:-
1. Q-17, following the loss, 44.83% and 31.03% bereaved adults thinks of themselves differently and self- perception has changed greatly.
2. Q-67. 20.00% see images or pictures from the death scene several time a day while another 20.00% see images or pictures from the death scene almost every week.
3. Q- 68. 60.00% said true and 15.00% said mostly true of seeing images or pictures of the deceased parent in their head.

6. Q-64. 42.11% keep on experiencing the loss as a shocking and traumatic life event, while 40.00% said loss of this kind is usually experienced as a most difficult event.
7. Q-66. 31.58% believes that the circumstances that caused the loss they experienced are usually considered as extremely difficult.

D. functioning and Type of relationship:-
The two – track bereavement model examine the relationship between the functioning of the bereaved adults and the type of relationship to the deceased parent. The outcome indicates that post functioning is determined to what the extent relationship to the deceased.
(70.00% said true and 20.00% mostly true that they are very close to the deceased parent and during his/her life, the decease parent was a major source of emotional support.

• Step 1: Research a legal case that involves negligence and malpractice.
• Step 2: Using your course materials and/or the Internet, research medical negligence and malpractice cases in your area of study. Try to examine at least three cases so that you can get a clear and broad picture of what types of cases are commonly brought up in your chosen area of study.
• Step 3 Create negligence and malpractice guidelines for your company: Imagine you work for a health care company in your area of study. Use the research you have done to create negligence and malpractice guidelines for the employees in your department.

o Highlight specific examples of negligence and malpractice as they appear in the legal cases you researched. What is the impact of their illegal practices? Provide an example of how the act or behavior could be performed legally and explain how it can be distinguished from the negligence or malpractice you identified in your example.
o Explore the importance of complying with health care regulations. What is at stake for the individuals involved in the case for failing to comply with regulation?
o In your guidelines, emphasize the importance of complying with regulatory laws.
• Length: 2-3 pages; 2 sources other than your textbook are required.
