First, please discuss Japanese Internment: what were the goals and fears; did it make sense for the national defense t the time, or was it a continuation of prejudice against Asians seen in the Chinese Exclusion Act, and the immigration laws of 1924 ? Then (using the Handouts about Otto Frank and Syria ) Please write about U.S. practices toward refugees during W.W.II and today. What re the fears? Should we have accepted more refugees? Is this country responsible for the Death of Anne Frank?

Write a 3 to 5 page paper that describes the historical events that influence contemporary culture. Describe how the historical events of two of the incidents below led to a change in the application of crisis negotiation.
• The Riot at the Attica Prison on September 9, 1971
• The 1972 Olympic Terrorist attack in Munich, Germany
• The 1975 South Moluccan train hostage crisis

• The 1996 Freemen Standoff
• The 2004 Lewis State Prison (Arizona) hostage taking
After describing the effects those two incidents had on the application of crisis negotiations give additional examples of types of violent situations that may require a crisis negotiator and how crisis negotiations may help successfully resolve those type situations.
You have been appointed as the new environmental manager for Apple. In a blog post to your key stakeholders, discuss using environmental management as a competitive advantage. Additionally, you must comment on at least one of your peers’ blogs. Be sure to use concepts found in Chapter 11 to demonstrate your understanding of information.
Please briefly respond to this comment from my peer:
Here at Apple, we strive to protect the environment and leave the world better than when we started out. There are many advantages to using environmental management as a competitive advantage. We will continue to save money, attract a new line of customers, promote innovation, and reduce regulatory risk (Lawrence & Weber, 2014). We have several programs in place that we already have in place and practice.
1. Cost Saving – We have a Reuse and Recycling program, where you can go into any Apple Retail Store and exchange your older device towards the purchase of a newer one. Through this program, we have diverted more than 508 million pounds of equipment from making it into landfills (Apple, Inc, 2014). We are then able to reuse much of these materials in our manufacturing.
2. Product Differentiation – We can attract more green customers, when we are using recycled materials. Even though we reuse the materials, there is no change in the quality of our products.
3. Strategic Planning – Through strategic planning, we specialized facilities that have the ability to reuse water, thus saving resources and money.
Your task is to identify a town within the UK which you feel could benefit from re-imaging. This must preferably
be a town of less than 500,000 residents as you will find this assessment more difficult to do with a large city.
Evidence can be found by reading national newspapers which are available in the digital library in the LRC, or
alternatively by using other media non academic sources. You may decide to use the internet initially to find
towns that you think may have a poor reputation, the UK Governments statistics website is a good source of
information. You could enhance/confirm this research my carrying out a mini survey to find out people’s
perceptions of your chosen town or perhaps do a SWOT analysis.
After deciding upon a suitable town to reimage you will then consider an event strategy that could be used to
achieve a more positive image of the selected town.
