Select an information system with which you are familiar, and that you think needs to be improved, based on your experiences as an employee, customer, system user, or system owner. Switch roles and perspectives as necessary to evaluate and develop a paper that responds to the following:

Describe the nature of the information system you have selected.
Describe the organization that owns and maintains the information system.
Describe the existing business process that this system will address.

Creating a Unit Plan

Once you’ve gotten to know your students through learning profile inventories that identify individual areas of strength and learning styles, you can design multimodal lessons that incorporate instructional technology that engage the 21st century learner. This week, you will create a three-day unit plan outline that addresses students’ diverse learning styles and multiple intelligences, acknowledges cultural and language differences, and integrates digital tools and technology.

Using the textbook as guidance, create a Unit Plan outline, using the provided template that includes:

Introduction: Describe the demographics of your current (or fictional classroom) including:

Grade Level and Subject Area
Total number of students – ability levels, gender, students with special needs, English Language Learners (ELLs)
Other relevant information (such as socioeconomic status, family background, recurring behavior issues, etc.)

Stage 1: The first stage is to determine the “Big Picture”; what you want students to learn, conceptually, at the unit’s conclusion. You must:

Identify the content, unit title, unit subject, and at least one Common Core State Standard (CCSS) that aligns with the unit.
Create at least two measurable unit objectives that align with the CCSS.
Describe what you want the students to master including key concepts, “big ideas”, and major understandings (see the textbook, Chapter 4 for guidance).

Assignment 2: LASA 1: Response to an Incident Involving a Computer: What Do You Do?

As the security representative for Computers, Security, and Investigations Inc. (CSII) in Centervale, you are the first responder to an emergency telephone call reporting that someone inside the computer lab may have been accessing child pornography. The security policy requires that you, as the first responder, investigate and document incidents fully.

As the first responder, you notify your immediate supervisor and close the lab for the rest of the day. Your supervisor, the chief security officer (CSO), requests a 6- to 8-page comprehensive report that details the situation and your actions as the first responder. You also consider contacting the director of the information technology (IT) department and the local authorities.

You are a security professional and not a law enforcement officer. You realize, however, that your work as the first responder is important for corporate responsibilities and further legal considerations. You are aware that your documentation could greatly affect the corporate policies and the prosecution of the individual.

What considerations will your documentation present for the corporation? What considerations will your documentation present for law enforcement? Please itemize how this can affect both entities.

There are no cameras in the computer lab, but there are cameras at the main entries and exits of the building.

Susan works in a real estate office that is equipped with up-to-date copiers, scanners, and printers. She is frequently the only employee working in the office in the evenings and often has spare time to do personal work. She has begun to use the office equipment for her children’s school reports and for her husband’s business. Do you think Susan’s use of the office equipment is harmless, or is she behaving unethically? Why? If you believe her behavior is unethical, what controls could be in place to prevent it? Have you ever used office resources for personal tasks? Under what conditions could such use of office resources be justified?

Analysis of an Air-Sampling Report

Compose a two- to three-page analysis that addresses the following

questions:

1. What is the purpose of the exposure assessment?

2. Why was the exposure assessment conducted?

3. What type of sampling (personal or area) was conducted, and why?

4. What are the chemicals that were sampled, and what are their hazards?

5. What are the most likely routes of exposure given the nature of the business?

6. Describe the sampling equipment and methods used to collect the sample.

7. Provide an overview of the results, including an explanation of the “additive formula,” and discuss them in relation

to the applicable exposure limit.

8. Were there any off-normal or unplanned incidents relative to sample collection?

9. Provide a summary of the recommendations made by Sam “IH” Sampler.

10. Comment on the thoroughness of the study. Did you feel that the exposure assessment was comprehensive? If

not, what additional information would you provide?

11. Comment on who the target audience would be for this report. If you were the plant director of ACME Printing,

would you be comfortable with sharing this with an auditor from the Occupational Safety and Health

Administration (OSHA)? Do you have any concerns related to sharing this with your employees?

In addition to addressing the listed questions, you should consider using additional background materials to support your

analysis. Materials should be cited using APA formatting style to include in-text citations and a reference list. You should

also paraphrase information obtained from outside sources; that is, use your own words. Do not simply cut and paste

materials from outside sources. Limit directly quoted materials to no more than three to five sentences for the entire case

study overview, and always use quotation marks for direct quotes of outside sources.
