Discussed the problem of polarizing healing techniques in the mentioned way.

The term “alternative medicine” implies that CAM treatments fall outside the realm of medicine.

Using South University Online Library or the Internet, research on the following practices included under CAM:

  • Chinese medicine
  • Herbalism

From your experiences and knowledge in the health care field, answer the following questions:

  • Does the promotion or lack of promotion of CAM techniques confirm this gap in healing modalities? Explain how?
  • Why might traditional health care providers be reluctant in suggesting or implementing CAM techniques?
  • The side effects of traditional medicines are becoming increasingly referenced, especially in the media. Conversely, one rarely hears about the cautions of selecting alternative treatments, leading individuals to seek more natural treatments found in CAM practice. What is the problem of polarizing healing techniques in this way?

You will apply the knowledge and techniques of CAM models, specifically traditional Chinese medicine, including herbal medicine for a selected illness. Using the perspective of traditional allopathic medicine, answer the following questions:

  • What is the overall philosophy behind the treatment methods?
  • According to the treatment paradigm, what are the possible causes of the patient’s symptoms?
  • What additional information may the practitioners require?
  • What interventions may be utilized through these methods (how will the condition be treated)?
  • What are the benefits and risks of using these methods of treatment?

Based on your understanding, create a 5- to 6-page Microsoft Word document that includes the answers to all the above questions.

Your response should adhere to the following guidelines:

  • It should have 5- to 6-pages not including a cover page, an abstract and a reference list.
  • There should be a title or a cover page.
  • The title or the cover page must be followed by an abstract of 100–200 words.
  • The paper must use the APA style for citing sources and references.
  • The paper must have a minimum of eight current references. Note that primary, peer-reviewed references are preferred.

On a separate page, cite any sources you used in the APA format. Click here to learn how to cite sources using APA guidelines.

Note: Peer-reviewed refers to the articles reviewed and approved by author’s professional peers who are experts on that topic.

Support your responses with reasoning and examples.

Blocher, E., Stout, D., Juras, P., Cokins, G. (2013). Cost Management: A Strategic Emphasis. 6th

Compute the equivalent units of production and the cost per equivalent units for materials and for conversion costs.

(TCO F) Whether a company uses process costing or job-order costing depends on its industry. A number of companies in different industries are listed below.

i. Brick manufacturer

ii. Contract printer that produces posters, books, and pamphlets to order

iii. Natural gas production company

iv. Dairy farm

v. Coal mining company

vi. Specialty coffee roaster (roasts small batches of specialty coffee beans)

For each company, indicate whether the company is most likely to use job-order costing or process costing.

(Points : 15)

Question 2. 2. (TCO F) Job 728 was recently completed. The following data have been recorded on its job cost sheet.

Direct materials $81,000
Direct labor hours 1,220 labor hours
Direct labor wage rate $15 per labor-hour
Machine Hours 1,520 machine hours
Number of units completed 4,400 units

The company applies manufacturing overhead on the basis of machine hours. The predetermined overhead rate is $16 per machine hour.

Compute the unit product cost that would appear on the job cost sheet for this job. (Points : 15)

Question 3. 3. (TCO F) Miller Company manufactures a product for which materials are added at the beginning of the manufacturing process. A review of the company’s inventory and cost records for the most recently completed year revealed the following information.

Units  Materials  Conversion
Work in process. Jan. 1 (80% complete with respect to conversion costs) 100,000 $100,000 $157,500
Units started into production 500,000
Costs added during the year
    Materials $650,000
    Conversion $997,500
Units completed during the year 450,000

The company uses the weighted-average cost method in its process costing system. The ending inventory is 50% complete with respect to conversion costs.

Required:

i. Compute the equivalent units of production and the cost per equivalent units for materials and for conversion costs.

ii. Determine the cost transferred to finished goods.

iii. Determine the amount of cost that should be assigned to the ending work in process inventory. (Points : 15)

Question 4. 4.

(TCO F) Weisinger Corporation has provided the following data for the month of January.

Inventories Beginning Ending
Raw materials $28,000 $29,000
Work in process $16,000 $14,000
Finished goods $42,000 $54,000

Additional Information
Raw material purchases $56,000
Direct labor costs $87,000
Manufacturing overhead cost incurred $51,000
Indirect materials included in manufacturing overhead costs incurred $3,000
Manufacturing overhead cost applied to work in process $55,000

Prepare a Schedule of Cost of Goods Manufactured and a Schedule of Cost of Goods Sold in good form.

Determine the input torque required at the winch to enable it to lift safely a mass of 1 Tonne.

Determine the input torque required at the winch to enable it to lift safely a mass of 1 Tonne.
Replot the characteristic curve for the motor as a torque-speed curve and from this determine the maximum torque developed by the motor and the speed at which this occurs. Using this maximum torque and associated speed, and assuming an overall efficiency of 84% for the reduction gearbox, determine the gear ratio required to enable the winch to lift the required load.

Identify relevant key policies and/or practice issues.

For this assignment, you are expected to produce an essay plan in preparation for your second assignment. Your essay plan should identify and critically evaluate a particular aspect of youth gangs and/or group offending and should give consideration to policy and practice responses to it.

Full instructions will be given in the seminars in the preceding weeks and instructions will be available on BREO.

Guidelines

You should read the following guidelines in conjunction with the table showing the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for this unit provided earlier in this handbook. In your weekly lectures and workshops/seminars we will explore various key aspects of youth gangs and group offending such as how gangs and why gangs form, their ethnic, gender and class composition, offending patterns and acts of deviance, and interventions to reduce gang and group offending. For this assignment, you should:

Choose a key aspect of group offending that interests you (for example, you may be interested in why young people join gangs or you may be interested in the roles of females within gangs)

Familiarise yourself with the literature around your chosen topic.

Identify relevant key policies and/or practice issues.

Begin to critically evaluate sources, key ideas and arguments and policy and practice responses.

Incorporate the above into a 500 word essay plan.

You will be expected to use a range of academic sources and only ONE of these may be an internet source. As with ALL your written assignments, you should reference your sources in the text and in a list of references, using the Harvard system of referencing. You will find the Harvard Guidelines and a quick referencing guide on BREO.

Your essay plan should be structured as a typical essay and should include key points for your introduction, the main body of argument/discussion, and conclusion. It should be titled and have a reference list this will not be part of your word count.

Design then code in Java (or C or C++) an algorithm that can find the optimal execution of these three programs on these two available computers.

We need to execute in an optimal manner (in the fastest time) 3 programs on two available computers; we assume that these three programs have different sizes expressed in machine code instructions and the two computers have also different computing capacities expressed in machines code instructions per second.
1.Design then code in Java (or C or C++) an algorithm that can find the optimal execution of these three programs on these two available computers.
2.Generalize your algorithm such that it can find the optimal execution of N programs on M available computers where (M<N).
