1. What are the effects of applying Rozan’s technique of consecutive interpretation on students’ performance in interpretation?
2. How can students apply Rozan’s technique when performing tasks of conference interpreting, specifically the seven principles which include the rules of abbreviation, links, negation, adding emphasis, verticality, and shift?
3. What is the relationship between the efficiency of taking notes and the process of reconstitution and interpretation?
Method & Procedures:
This qualitative analytical research study will be based on collecting data from two groups from the undergraduate students at level 7, at the College of Languages and Translation, Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, to identify the problems of consecutive interpretation, and propose suitable solutions to help students improve their performance in interpretation. The researcher will examine the application of Rozan’s technique to suggest suitable system for note-taking in consecutive interpretation. The collected data will be analyzed based on a comparison between two the groups’ performance, one of which will be trained to apply Rozan’s technique. The research will also develop a Likert scale questionnaire to collect data from the participants who will be selected for this research study to identify their problems in interpretation. The research study will include a detailed report on the results of data analysis using tables and graphs.
