The best categories are very broad and allow for multiple examples from multiple chapters. This essay is intended to be a view of the material from 30,000 feet, rather than close up. You do not need to explain in detail each of your examples. The goal is to use the examples to prove your argument. Provide your example and then a footnote to show the source. Your essay structure should follow the required format and include three kinds of actions (including an action verb to show the change) and not be three periods of time or three groups of people. Provide evidence for many different people- think about race, class, gender, etc. Don’t focus only on one group.
