PAPER TOPIC
Both Nietzsche and Freud present a psychology of the individual along with an understanding of the relation of the individual to society. Examine a few key ideas that show Freud’s understanding of the mind and his understanding of the relation of the individual to society relying on Introductory Lectures On Psychoanalysis and Civilization and Its Discontents. Do the same with Nietzsche with reference to a maximum of three aphorisms from The Gay Science. Establish a conclusion that presents an integration of both authors in an understanding of how the relation of mind and social order leads to a critique of society.
Further clarification:
– rely on a few key sections from Freud and no more than three aphorisms from Nietzsche
– maintain a focus throughout the paper on the understanding of mind and social order.
