This assignment relates to the National Geographic article resource Population7 Billion (see citation on next page), which explores challenges that will be faced if the world’s population continues to grow at current rates, as well as ways to address them. Although scientists have great faith in the ability of human ingenuity to increase agricultural production and decrease current environmental degradation, evidence suggests that the planet’s resources will be severely stressed by another exponential cycle (doubling) of population growth, thereby impacting our ability to provide for more individuals.
