Choose an organisation that operates internationally (profit or not profit making whichever you prefer) and prepare a report analyse the international strategy/market in which it operates using the key area covered in the lectures. Your report should also illustrate the impact of globalisation on the organisation and critically evaluate the opportunities and threats. You are free to focus on just one country or on a region.
The report should generally include the following key parts:
a) Analyse the business environment of this organisation e.g. micro and macro environments. You should use different analysis techniques. For example PESTEL, SWOT, etc. (Assessment Criteria, 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4)
b) The history of the industry, the extent of globalisation and current internal issues that affecting the organisation. You can analyse the company’s by looking at their entry mode, international expansion strategy, Porters 5 Force, BCG , Porter’s Generic Strategy , Ansaff Matrix , etc. (Assessment Criteria, 2.1/2.2/2.3/2.4)
c) Critically discuss the importance of Corporate Social Responsibilities to the organization covering the following points (Assessment Criteria 3.1/3.2/3.3)
1. The moral and ethical issues caused by operating in an international environment.
2. Any conflicts between corporate strategy and ethical/social responsibilities
3. Any legislation/regulation or guidance relating to corporate social responsibility of the organisation chosen
