Part 1
1.1 Identify the key factors, work practices and challenges that Innocent should consider if it is to sustain competitive advantage. What are the implications for HR strategy at Innocent? (50%) ?1000words?
1.2 What do you understand by the term ‘High Performance Work Practices’ (also called high performance work systems or high impact work systems)? What evidence is there in the Innocent case study to suggest that HPWP is a useful concept that helps organisations to maximise the contribution of their employees and thus contribute to the competitive advantage of the organisation? Use at least one model of HPWP to support your answer. (50%) (1000words)
Part 2
Discuss the term ‘talent management’ and explain how talent management fits with strategic HRM. Identify and analyse the issues (eg., practical, personal, ethical) that could arise from the implementation and operation of a talent management programme in an organization. (100%) (2000words)
• An equal weighting (50%-50%) of marks is given to each part and each part should be no more than 2000 words, excluding references. Please do not exceed 4000 words in total (excluding references).
• For Part 1, although you will need to describe events and situations within the case study there should be a strong element of critical analysis and evaluation of the associated academic literature. The literature should cover a good range of thinking and contributions.
• You are encouraged to get new information on the case study company to support your assignment.
• For Part 2, you are encouraged to consider how national cultures could influence the way organizations might approach talent management.
• Make sure that you reference correctly and include a list of references using the Harvard system.
