Leadership is an ever-changing process and managers regardless of gender at any organizational level play key roles in the organizational focus. Consequently, the perceptions and differences of an effective leader have undergone change through the decades that warrants further exploration. Whether such gender differences and attitudes exist in the way in which they influence, lead or communicate, history has always viewed men and women as different and unique sets of people. However, such differences have, to a greater extent, subjected the womenfolk in the place of work at a disadvantaged position mainly because of their perceived inferiority to men. Personally, however, there is no correlation between being a good leader and gender. Good Leadership and efficient management styles are inherently personal attributes that are independent of gender. Whether male or female any individual can grow to become an effective leader or manager; superior gender specific traits do not exist. Multiple studies confirm my stand in challenging the notion that leaders’ sex shapes their performance as a leader.
