Introduction
The concept of stigma or identity marks, and the ways in which these marks have impacts on the interactions between individuals living with Aids have for decades attracted much interest to scholars. This includes the sociological inquiries, which have majored on nearly wholly on the stigmatized or branded people as passive recipients of the marks, and the stereotypes that accompany it, alongside the management approaches that the branded individuals employ to cope with their burden. Some of the management techniques that HIV patients may employ includes passing, covering, deviance, neutralization, conventionalization, excusing, denial, special justification, concealment falsify, and politicization. Such categories are not often conceptually discrete, since many researchers use different terminologies to describe the same methods. Moreover, the management approaches are obviously mutually exclusive, since the actors may move from one method to another based on the available resources, capability of conveying several impressions, and the presence descriptions of the situations (Gramling and Graig 401).
