Social construction of a concept refers to how a society develops and assigns meaning to the concept. Usually, concepts for which the society constructs meaning do not have their meanings from the natural law. The meanings of such concepts usually vary from one social setting or culture to another (they lack universality). People in one culture or social setting may judge such a concept as “good” while others (in other settings or cultures) judge it as “bad”. Race, disability, and culture, are examples of concepts whose meanings, the society constructs.
