PART A: Research and Data Gathering (2 marks for submission of your viewing notes, does not count toward 6 page length)

1. Decide on 4-5 episodes of a television/Netflix series, or a series of movies that has a 1, 2, and 3 (for example Star Wars, The Terminator, Batman, Madagascar, Rocky, etc) that your group will view. Of course, the movie option is more time-intensive, so take that into consideration.

2. View the episodes as a group or individually, and make notes during your viewing to help answer the questions/sections of the project outlined below. Each group member must hand their notes as a required part of the project. Some marks will be given for the submission of your individual notes. Groups should discuss their notes with each other before going onto step 3 in this section.

Make observations about how the characters are represented. What patterns do you observe? Look at their behaviour, dialogue, gender performance, presentation of self, clothing, body language, their profession, interests, their relationships with or to others, etc.

3. Write up a one paragraph summary of the media you viewed that includes the year it came out, the title of the show/movie, the individual episode names if available, and the main premise or plot of the series or movie.

PART B: Organizing your Findings (4 marks)

Occupation
Sexual orientation
Class status
