Strategies that can be used in case of a change in jobs
Changes are inevitable and when they occur, we try to work with them. For example, a change can occur when I have moved from one job to another. When this happens very many things are affected. Usually, you have to make new friends in the new job, which sometimes can be very hard if you are not liked. There is usually a lot of curiosity of how the new job will be and whether you will be able to like the new job. Additionally, there is a lot of anticipation of how the different duties are and whether you will be able to perform them well. Lastly, there are those thoughts, which cross the mind of whether I will be able to perform the job in accordance to the expectations.
In order to be able to fulfill the feelings that I have, I usually employ several strategies, which will help me to cope with the different changes. First, I ensure that my mind is free from prejudice or biasness that I have. This usually helps me to create new friends in the new job (Pries, 2001). When my mind is free, it means that I am not there to judge people but to work. For this reason, I believe that I am not there to make friends but to work.
In order to catch up quickly with the different cultures of the job, I am always ready to learn and listen. This usually helps me because I do not know the different policies that are in the new job. Therefore, I have to listen and wait to be taught what happens. Additionally, I try to perform the job, as it is my own job. This makes me more efficient since nobody can ever perform poorly if the job is his own. Lastly, I try to follow the rules to the letter because I want to make a good impression on the boss. This helps me so that I cannot be blacklisted or I can cross on the wrong path of the boss (Pries, 2009). After following these strategies, I find myself to be very efficient. Additionally, I blend in the new job faster without crossing paths with anybody.
