> As noted in class, I recommend completing Tutorial #1 first if you haven’t worked with MS Project before. (I know we worked with it briefly in class a few weeks ago, but if that was the first time you used MS project, I recommend doing Tutorial #1.)
Follow the instructions included in each tutorial. Regarding Tutorial #2:
> The Thanksgiving holiday includes Thursday 11/26 and Friday 11/27
> Skip the production of the Project Summary Report (b/c there is no Project Summary Report in MS Project 2013)
The only real tricky part in Tutorial #2, in my opinion, is the linking of tasks (starting on p. 12). I recommend linking tasks in the following order (assumes you have created the work breakdown structure correctly):
1. Link all the tasks within each work package. Thus, first you’ll link tasks 4 through 7, then tasks 10 through 14, then tasks 16 through 20, then tasks 23 through 27. (Note that a milestone is considered a task here.)
2. Link Milestone: Analysis Complete to the Design Web Page Layouts task. (You do this b/c you can’t start designing web page layouts until the analysis is complete, per the milestone.)
3. Link Milestone: Server Installed to the Move Web Pages to Server task.
4. Link Milestone: Design Complete to the Write Announcement task.
