Myself as a Writer

To count as an effective revision, you must make major changes in content and/or structure. The revised paper does not necessarily need to be better than the previous draft; it simply needs to be substantially different. (You dont have to follow the suggestions I made in the evaluation of your mid-process draft. Also, my suggestions may not be enough to count as a major change.) In terms of grammar, the revised paper should be easy to read, but it doesnt have to be perfect.
When you submit the portfolio, precede the revision with a separate page in which you describe in one paragraph how the revision differs from the previous draft. On the revised paper, you should mark clearly the places where you have made major changes so that I can find them easily. You should also attach at the end the previous draft and the evaluation sheet on which I wrote my comments.

Topic: neurophysiology clinical report

number of sources isn\’t particularly important here, i just need this to be a GOOD QUALITY paper as i need the marks. the word count is a hard cap and doesn\’t need to be adhered to. writing NEEDS to be intelligible, not lengthy. i just need the questions answered evenly and cleanly.

Giving some recommendations for bookstores。。possible solutions for the bookstores.

Giving some recommendations for bookstores that are facing difficult problems. Explain the situation, and offers possible solutions for the bookstores.

Organization5 points
This assignment should follow the model discussed in class (Burger Corner):
• Does it provide background information about the business?
• Does it identify the problems facing the business?
• Does it provide at least two recommendations to the problem?
• Does it analyze the weaknesses or risks of the proposed recommendations?
• Is it within the word limit of 500 – 600 words?
• Is it double-spaced?

Content10 points
• Is the background information clearly explained?
• Are the problems facing the business clearly described?
• Are the recommendations reasonable?
• Are the weaknesses / risks clearly analyzed?
• Is this business case analysis interesting to read?

Language Use10 points
• Does it use the target vocabulary discussed in the textbook (p. 121)?
• Is it free of sentence structure mistakes (SF, ROS, CS, //)?
• Is it free of verb errors? Noun errors?
• Are nouns/pronouns consistent throughout the report?
• Is punctuation used correctly?
• Does the essay avoid problems with mechanics: title, capitalization, indentation, article & preposition use?

Use quotations from the text, but do so sparingly; I want to see how well you can explain things in your own words.

Organize your thoughts into paragraphs; you may want to use more than one paragraph per question. You must demonstrate good use of the text. Use quotations from the text, but do so sparingly; I want to see how well you can explain things in your own words. Your paper should consist of no more than 10% quotations.

Outside sources are not permitted. This is not a research paper; instead, it is your demonstration of what you\’re getting out of the text, as well as your opinions. Assignments using outside sources (other than the text) will be returned with a grade of zero. Plagiarized assignments will be returned with a grade of zero, and flagrant plagiarism will reduce your final course grade by an additional 10% (an entire letter grade for the course), besides earning a zero on the assignment. A partially plagiarized paper does not earn a partial score; it earns a zero.

If you are using Word, you can go to Tools at the top, and then select \”Word Count\” either for the whole paper, or for a portion of the paper that you have selected with your cursor.

Submit as a nicely formatted paper, single spaced. I prefer 12 pt Arial font with 1\” margins. PROOFREAD! Include your name, date, and the word count at the top. You must submit via the assignment link (see below) as an attachment in Word (.doc or .docx) or else as a .rtf file. These are file types that I know my computer can read. Please do not submit as Word Pad, Note Pad, Microsoft Works, Open Office or Apple Works, odt or wps documents, for example; instead, go to file and then save as, and choose save as file type .doc or .docx or .rtf. Include your last name as part of the attachment name, such as SmithTermPaper.doc or JonesPaper.rtf. Do not submit it by pasting it in the comments box. Leave the comments box blank unless you want to send a short message along with your paper, but note that I won\’t see the comment until I go to grade your paper.

You will be graded on content, depth, and quality of writing. Content includes how well you explain the views, your use of specific examples as evidence, how well you demonstrate your understanding of the text, and how well you apply what you are learning. All things being equal, an essay that goes into more depth is likely to earn a higher score than a paper that goes into less depth (within the limits). The minimum effort will not yield the maximum grade. Quality of writing, which counts for 10% of your grade, includes spelling, grammar, sentence structure, transitions, and the smooth and logical flow of ideas. Part of that 10% is also following directions regarding formatting, etc. Your complete paper should be at least 1300 words, and better papers will be over 1500 words. Papers of less than 1000 words will not be accepted and will earn a grade of zero.

Individual Report

Note: Important to read (Super Important)
Hey guys. I am working on my individual report for lab 5… and I just realized that we were supposed to be keeping track of the force exerted on the cart. We so focused on the values for acceleration that we completely missed this, so I think we can expect to miss some points on our group report.

I am hoping that if we put something in our individual reports about it that we can miss fewer points. Just explain that we had trouble getting the setup to work and so it didn\’t get done, but the net force on the cart should have been equal to the acceleration of the cart times its mass.

The acceleration of the cart is that thing we derived – equation 1 in the lab, equation 2 if you\’re looking in the group report:

a = m * g
M+m

So the net force on the cart is that formula times the mass of the cart, M:

Fcart = Ma = M * m * g
M+m

This is equation 2 in the lab, but I didn\’t put it in the group report. We should have plugged the value for the mass of the cart, M, and the value of the mass, m, into this equation each time we changed the mass and compared it to the force on the probe.
