A positive guest experience is mainly the result of guests who have positive encounters and interactions with employees who provide the utmost quality service. Based on the hospitality industry you chose in Assignment 1, identify methods, strategies, and tools this industry uses to deliver the “wow” factor and enhance the guest experience.

Write a five to six (5-6) page paper in which you:
1.    Describe how the industry involves the guest in order to provide quality service.
2.    Summarize two (2) service standards the industry uses to meet customer expectations.
3.    Recommend one (1) “wow” element the industry could apply to each of the two (2) service standards in order to make the guest’s experience more memorable.

The introduction should be a brief summary of what you are going to write about. Your introduction should briefly describe the stage of development you chose and explain why you chose it.

The body of your paper should back up your introduction. Use your research to thoroughly discuss/explain the stage of development you chose. You must also answer these questions:

Reading the weekly recommended materials is essential for grasping the issues treated during the seminar. Your comments on these materials should be between 200 and 400 words for each of the readings of the week (most weeks contain a couple of readings). They can be your assessment of the authors’ perspective in the readings, or thoughtful remarks on broader points that the readings have illuminated, or questions the readings have raised, or how the material relates to concepts you are already familiar with, etc. I do assess your level of engagement with the texts, meaning that I am focusing on evidence that you have read and tried to digest the argument in the readings. While slightly flawed or incomplete understandings are acceptable at this point, superficial comments (the kind that are written in 5 minutes after skimming through the readings for another 5 minutes) will not get a full mark. I expect evidence of critical thinking rather than a flat reproduction of the ideas in the materials.

The assignment is to evaluate something, such as criteria for awards, our example he gave us was a essay written about Chris Rock and his style of comedy. We can evaluate music, an artist, NFL quarterbacks, etc. My husband is a police officer, I was thinking along the lines of evaluating how realistic police dramas are compared to real life. At this point anything works for me.

Health care is one of the major issues that have government officials concerned. For many years, many people died due to lack of health insurance, due to quality of care that health profession provides. According to cencus.gov, Both the percentage and number of people with health insurance increased in 2011, to 84.3 percent and 260.2 million, up from 83.7 percent and 256.6 million in 2010. That number is increasing each and every year due to the fact many people are unemployed, inadequate funds to afford health insurance or the company that they worked for doesn’t provide them with health coverage. To create a solution to this issue that has a big impact on the US, President Barrack Obama came up with a universal healthcare program called the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act, also known as Obama care, which was signed In March of 2010.  This act mandate that nearly everyone in the U.S. must have some form of health care insurance by 2014, or be fined by the Federal government. Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act focused on reducing the cost of health care for Americans, providing health coverage to all Americans, make insurance coverage easier to attain, and reducing the overall cost in prescription drug for all Americans. By doing so, all Americans will be able to attain a healthy lifestyle.  Although, many feel that the Obama care it’s a great program that will reconstruct the health coverage in America. In Obama eyes, everyone will benefit from this reformation. It will benefit the citizens of this country, the seniors, doctors, insurance company and small businesses.
This Act will enable more low-income people to get Medicaid, insurances company can no longer deny someone coverage and parents can put their children up to age 26 on their health insurance plans. In contrast, not everyone’s agrees to that. Many individuals feel that it might create more disparities, insurances company will ended up loosing money due to new taxes and penalties, there will be a shortage of health professionals, On the long run health coverage will be more expensive instead of decreasing and many don’t agree with the fact that they are been forced to get Health insurance either through a private provider or by the Health Care for America Plan and it will lower economic growth and the fact that many decisions about their health care out of their hands and their doctor and puts them into the hands of government regulators.  This analysis of the Act will print out the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
Strenght/weakness
Obama Care contains many benefits for low-income families. They will get access to health insurance and Medicaid expansion will cover over 15 million low-income individuals and families below the 133% FLP mark. In addition, they will also get access to preventive and wellness services for free. Doctors and hospitals will be rewarded for providing quality care, instead of being reward for quantity. That will push health facility and personnel to provide better care to the Americans. Despite the fact that, most facility will be rewarded for the quality of services, however there can also be a change. Many health professionals refused to provide care for Medicaid patients. Due to less reimbursement, most doctors are not accepting government health programs.

The difficulties that Obama care contains are that, many individuals are been forced to purchase insurance or they will pay a penalty income tax. The person will have to pay $95 or 1% of your income for the first year then it increases gradually.  America is a country of diversity, which means every member of the society different needs according to their social class. To the wealthy, a health insurance may not be necessary and they may think of it only as a waste of their tax. An additional difficulty is taxes that are being forced on small businesses. Small business will have to have at least 50 full-time employees and provide them with insurance or the employer will have to pay a fine.

Opportunities
Many individual and small businesses will now be able to purchased affordable insurance. They will be eligible for tax credit so that they can provide insurance for their workers.  More people will get the privileged of being a part of Medicaid.  States will be able to received federal matching funds for covering some additional low income individual and families under Medicaid (healthcare.org)
Threat
According to Robert E. Moffit , The act will have a tremendous impact on the senior.  Lack of physician to provide care for the seniors and more.

In conclusion, The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act have a lot to offer to low-incomes families. It will enable them to get access to health insurance and preventive services and also reduce the cost of prescription. However, it creates some type of hardship to small business owners and individuals that are wealthy.

I.  Histories of Racism and Challenges to It

Between 1861 and 1900, how did particular economic and political circumstances aggravate white racism while other circumstances, in the words of Charles Postel, “opened cracks in the walls of racial oppression”?  When and where in the United States during these years did historical developments deepen particular forms of denigration, exclusion, and violence?  When and where did they create new possibilities for African Americans, Chinese immigrants, Mexican Americans, or Native Americans to pursue their own welfare and the welfare of their families and communities without persistent forms of white racism limiting them?  (You might also consider the relevance of racism in the lives of Southern and Eastern European immigrants.)

To answer this question, consider what you have learned about the history of racism not only as an individual attitude, but also as a set of institutional arrangements and a system of oppression. Also keep in mind the specificities of racism as it targeted different groups in different ways, as it varied from one place to another, and as it changed over time.

Identify at least two times and places, and at least two sets of circumstances, that shaped racism and challenges to it.  Develop your understanding of the particulars of your two leading examples using a range of readings, including both primary and secondary sources.  Once you have a good understanding of this material, devise a single, coherent argument that answers the question and write an essay using your two leading examples as evidence in support of your argument.  Incorporate other related material where appropriate for your argument and to the extent that it fits within the length limitations for this essay.

Essay Questions:
Choose one of the following topics for your essay on Books One, Two, and Three of Paradise Lost:
(1) Milton juxtaposes light and darkness throughout PL and there are stark contrasts between the light of heaven in Book Three and the “darkness visible” in Books One and Two.  Compose an essay where you explore what Milton might be trying to achieve with all his references to light and darkness in these three books.  One thing you may want to keep in mind is that, by the time he composed PL, Milton was completely blind.  You may want to think about what losing “light” and vision to a writer like Milton would mean to him.  Also, you may want to consider what light and darkness symbolize.
(2) One of the critical issues surrounding PL is the idea of the felix culpa.  Translated from the Latin, this term literally means “the fortunate fault [or fall]” and expresses the idea that man’s fall from grace into sin was a fortunate event because it allowed for the grace of God to manifest itself fully through the ultimate sacrifice of his son for mankind’s redemption.  In this way, the character of Satan actually serves God’s purpose because Satan provides the catalyst for mankind to sin.  If you agree with this argument and would like to write an essay on this topic, be sure to draw quotes from Books One and Two in addition to the more obvious source, Book Three.
(3) Upon first reading PL, readers often associate Satan in Books One and Two with heroism.  A closer reading however, proves that Milton’s intent was not to create a heroic Satan but rather a character whose fallacies and deceit create contempt.  Point out some of the passages and/or elements of the text that may lead readers to interpret Satan as heroic and then contradict this interpretation.  Be sure to include Christ from Book Three because he serves as Satan’s antithesis.
