World literature

1.  Relate an historical event or trend to a literary work (like the Crusades and “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.”).
2.  Discuss a particular literary or dramatic work, or some character or aspect thereof.
3.  Investigate a subject area outside of the arts within a particular period (like medieval attitudes toward women/love, medicine/science in the Renaissance, the Deists in the Age of Reason, etc.).  If you adopt this option, you should be prepared to relate your topic to a single work of literature, your main focus.
4. Find a consistent theme in the work of a particular author and illustrate it.
5.  Investigate how an author’s life experiences or personality might have influenced his work in a specific way.
