Based on this module’s readings by Michael Fullan, addressing educational challenges, issues, and pressures inevitably requires implementing change. It is essential for today’s global education leader to be deeply knowledgeable about research on the change process. This research provides critical direction on how to skillfully walk affected constituents through the stages of the change process Fullan describes: initiation, implementation, and continuation.
Identify a challenge, issue, and/or pressures being experienced in a learning/education environment that has/have resulted in a decision by its educational leaders to initiate targeted change. The change you identify must be related to multiculturalism and/or the development of a global skill. Consider the video panel’s comments and advice as you proceed with this assignment.
Submit a paper that analyzes the change process associated with the educational change you identified. Include the following elements of the educational change process:
1. Describe the challenge, issue, and/or pressure you identified.

2. How and why was it decided to initiate an educational change to address the challenge, issue, and/or pressure?

3. What successful change processes and leadership skills, if any, are/were evident in the situation? Cite the source(s) of your analysis of successful educational change processes.

4. What unsuccessful change processes and leadership skills, if any, are/were evident in the situation? Cite the source(s) of your analysis of successful change processes.

5. What leadership lessons about planning and implementing change can be learned from your example? Cite the research-based leadership and/or educational change resource(s) that support(s) your position.

Assignment:
In this Assignment you are required to apply Fuller’s Principle, as cited above, and respond to three real-life scenarios regarding ethical decision making within the field of criminal justice and policing.
In considering each of the three scenarios, you are asked to respond to the following four questions:

1. Is there a moral problem presented in the scenario? If so, what is it?
2. Does policy or law dictate an appropriate response, or does it require that professional discretion be applied?
3. What criteria (considerations), principles, and consequences should guide your decision?
4. What would you do? Articulate, justify, and defend your position.

First, read each scenario. Second, analyze the ethical dilemma within the context of the four questions specified above. Third, respond in writing to the each of the four questions.
The entire paper should be 2 – 4 pages in length. Each essay response should be brief, not more than one page. You may use references to support your responses, but the essay responses must be original.

Scenario 1 – Drugs at a Friend’s House
You are an off-duty police officer at a party at the house of an old high school friend. Everyone is still in the backyard drinking. You go into the house to use the restroom and observe several of your friend’s friends (whom you do not know) snorting cocaine. You do not know whether or not your friend has knowledge that people are using drugs in his house.

Scenario 2 – Accepting a Gift
It is the day before Christmas and you are a community police officer. An owner of a small market has been friendly to you throughout the year, and has participated faithfully in community crime-prevention meetings. He calls you behind the counter and gives you a fruit basket for your family, and a Christmas card with a $30 gift certificate as an expression of his appreciation.

Scenario 3 – Homosexual Partner
You are a supervisor on a medium-size police department. Office Ted Jones is an excellent officer and has been on the force for 16 years. He is also a homosexual and hangs out at a known gay bar in his off time. You have two person patrols and Jones was recently teamed with Officer James Davis. Officer Davis comes to you and asks to be assigned to another partner because Jones is a homosexual.
Respond to each scenario using the four (4) questions listed above.

Analysis by Comparison and Contrast

For the Session-Long project, you will write an analysis of which application, PowerPoint or Prezi, would be best for giving a presentation to your colleagues about an anticipated equipment upgrade.

Your analysis of the presentation software should consider its usefulness as a tool, which will be used to address the concerns of those involved, and to tell them how the equipment upgrade will impact various their jobs, enhance productivity, increase income, and improve corporate finances.

Your task is to decide which application would be better for presenting this information, and why. Write a three- or four-page analysis explaining your decision. Be sure to include the specific characteristics of the situation being presented to your colleagues– i.e., replacing equipment, the required training, etc. — and explain how those characteristics affected your choice of presentation software.

Expectations:

– Write three-four page Analysis

– Address the scenario/situation

– Determine which program/application would work best for the presentation of information

– Include reasons for your choice.

– Why did you choose one program as opposed to another, for instance?

– Cite any outside sources
