You will Write a final research paper that explores the topic of ethics within groups and compares it to ethics regarding individual counseling. This paper is to be 8 pages and double spaced. The 8 pages do not include the title page, abstract, and other elements required for this paper, which I will complete myself. For your Ethics Paper, you are required to have at least 10 empirical articles to support your writing. All articles must be empirical, and at least half of them must be recent (2000 or later).

Dear Sociology 1: During class on Friday, April 24th, we watched a documentary titled, “Fast Food, Fat Profits” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViZQkCYfufk).
The documentary featured several people implicated, in one way or another, with the fast food business or with the so-called obesity epidemic in America. The documentary channeled its materials through several frameworks (Goffman), which were employed in various ways from the beginning to end.
Your assignment for this week is to (1) Identify at least two frameworks through which the documentary filtered its materials, objectively laying out how the documentary’s message was crafted into a cohesive and unitary whole. Please do not editorialize or make evaluative statements. I simply want you to identify what the frameworks are. Then, once you have objectively described two frameworks, I want you to (2) utilize “radical doubt,” which means you do not accept what is communicated at face value, that you assume the documentarian and the interviewees in the documentary have concealed information or they are providing a faulty representation of social reality. In other words, I want you to assume there is strong incentive to lie, mislead and evade.

1. Select a magazine advertisement of your choice. Note the date of the ad and the magazine in which it appeared.
2. Write an evaluation of your selected advertisement ( approximately 1-2 pages double spaced) in which you answer the following questions:

b. Does the ad seem to be part of a positioning strategy? If so, what seems to be the positioning approach being used?
c. What type of message format/execution style appears to be used in this ad?

e. Was this magazine a good choice of media for the ad? ( Discuss in relation to media selection criteria presented in class)

Requirements: A strong essay will . . .
• Open with an introduction paragraph that engages and clearly connects with your chosen audience, introduces the media you have chosen to write about, and leads toward your thesis.

• In the introduction or first body paragraph, clearly explain the way that media can influence our perceptions. You must introduce, quote and/or paraphrase at least one of our class texts as an authoritative source: Harris and Carbado, Adichie, UDHR, Cofer, etc.
• Consider the arguments presented by the authors of our readings and those of the videos, as well as our discussion about the UDHR and “dignity” to inspire your own topics and main points.
• Use the Media Study to argue numerous ways your chosen media frames your identity
• Make only one main point per paragraph (aim for specific instead of general), and include multiple paragraphs to both analyze the media and re-educate your audience.
• Include support for your points in the form of detailed description and examples from your chosen media, classwork, texts and your own experience
• Address your essay to a specific audience: the creators of that image, OR your classmates, OR another group that you feel needs to be informed, corrected, or perhaps applauded.
• End with a thoughtful conclusion paragraph that directly connects with your audience and demands some form of action, re-evaluation of the media presented, or a way to promote the positive image offered, etc.

Address the following question in a complete, well thought-out response, in at least 250 words. Please make sure you appropriately number each response. Please also remember that spelling, grammar, and punctuation do count towards your grade.

Marine reptiles, birds, and mammals all have terrestrial counterparts from which they differ morphologically and physiologically in order to survive in the ocean. This lab will explore morphological characteristics and will focus specifically on thermoregulation, or how some marine organisms have overcome the thermal challenges of a marine existence. Because water has a high heat capacity (the rate at which energy is transferred down a temperature gradient), it steals heat from a warm body approximately 25 times faster than air of the same temperature.
