Assignment:
The purpose of this assignment is to become familiar with both the creations of and the working process of the Heatherwick Studio in the UK. This exhibition is unusual in that it displays the work in an atypically museum-like way.
You will:
1. View the video that describes the focus and working process of the studio.
2. Explore the exhibition. As you do so, focus on the process and inspiration as well as the technical aspects of each creation.
3. Take photos of the displays. Most provide a lot of information, both about the final project and the working process.
4. You will write a 1.5-2 page, double spaced description of the design you’ve chosen in which you explain:
• The appearance of the work
• The purpose or function of the work
• The inspiration for the work
• What sets it apart? What qualities does it possess (humor, wit, oddity, etc.)?
