You must review at least four academic journal articles pertaining to the topic.
Paper should be at least 4 to 5 pages of narrative.
You can include charts, figures, etc.

PROPOSAL AND ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY ASSIGNMENT
For this assignment, you will pick a topic relates to the literature we have and will discuss. Topics might include:
– Mental Illness
– Women’s Rights
– Feminism
– Family Dynamics
– Women’s Jobs
– Masculinity
– Women’s Education
– Gender and Race (Intersectionality)
This assignment has two parts:
– A 1 page research proposal about your topic
– An annotated bibliography of 5 sources. This assignment will lead into your final research paper, in which you will incorporate your sources into an argument.
o 4 of your sources must come from the BCC library.
DEFINITION:
The purpose of any research project is to analyze not only what your texts say and how they say it but also to analyze the background and circumstances that shape the text and what other authors have written about the text. The annotated bibliography gives you the opportunity to compile a set of sources relating to your topic as well as to evaluate and situate those sources within your larger argument. It helps you discuss your topic with a clearer and more nuanced understanding.
ASSIGNMENT:
Your research proposal (1page) should provide an overview of your chosen topic. You should outline crucial issues that attend to this topic and describe several research questions that guided your research. You might even propose a tentative thesis statement. Other questions you might consider while writing your research proposal include: What research problems does this particular topic raise and how do you plan to solve them? Why is this research topic so exciting / important? What new information do you hope to learn from studying this topic? What do your sources say about this topic?
Then you will compile an annotated bibliography of at least 5 sources. 4 of these sources must come from the BCC library (in other words, they cannot be random websites). Your 1-paragraph annotations should summarize each source, and explain its relevance to your argument.

Clearly and concisely identify the theory/conceptual framework. In quantitative studies, the theoretical framework is the appropriate term and in qualitative studies the conceptual framework is the appropriate term. The student will articulate the theoretical/conceptual framework with concepts from the literature to ground and complement the applied business study.

Demonstrate familiarity with a major critical-theoretical framework for understanding literature;

Apply concepts and vocabulary from a selected critical-theoretical framework; and

Analyze and evaluate a text through the lens of a critical-theoretical framework.

Assignment: For your final paper, you will be using a critical/theoretical framework to analyze and evaluate one of the texts we have read this semester.

1. By now we have worked in class with each of the four frameworks. On Blackboard you will find copies of the frameworks. As a team, decide whether you want to all use the same framework or the same text. (This will provide the critical link for your group presentation later.) Once you have made this decision, divvy up the texts (or frameworks) accordingly.

2. On your own, review your framework and your text. Formulate a tentative claim about the work you will be analyzing from within your framework. You may refine this later.

3. Organize your ideas around your central claim. The claim should be stated clearly in your introduction as your thesis statement.

4. Your paper should start by providing an overview of the relevant background information and previous research. Then you can get into your specific points and evidence from the work(s) under study.

5. Write your paper. Make sure your heading, title, citations, and works cited are in MLA format.

The objective of this research task is to gain and demonstrate a deepened understanding of the cross- cultural and intercultural encounters of different cultures by discussing and applying the below themes, concepts and theories you have learnt throughout the course.
You will need to choose a SPECIFIC geographical location where different cultures live closely with each other. Write a report in which you discuss the following themes and concepts with reference to your chosen location: cultural hybridization, stereotyping and the politics of cross-cultural and intercultural encounters.

Choose a case. Find real life healthcare in ethics case that grabs your attention. Than. What ethical issues have come up for them in their clinic or agency. Topics: like autonomy or justice. There will be at least one focal healthcare and ethics concern, your analysis also will involve values and principal.

The title of the essay would be Manifest Destiny and Conquest: Thomas Larkin and Jaun Bautista Alvarado. Comepare and contrast viewpoints, then who would you side with.
Questions that could assist the essay:
1.Why do you think Alvarado failed to become the Jeorge Washington of California? Did forces or circumstances beyond his control dictate his fate? Or did he prevent himself from being the father of California?
2.One study of Larkin concluded that he was exuberantly American. Do you agree? What typical American traits did he possess.
3. Some historians have argued that the ethnically diverse American West was a fertile field for cultural fusion, while others have viewed it as a place of cultural conflict and conquest. What light do the lives of Larkin and Alvarado shed on this issue.
