Purpose: To integrate and apply your understanding of the management theories, models, principles and practices, covered during the semester, in the study of an organisation’s management. The organisation is that which was used in Assessment Item 2.

PART A. Begin with the 1000 word environmental analysis undertaken as Assessment Item 2 (which should be included in your submision of the case study). Explain why you believe this to be an issue where human dignity is a critical factor.

Analyse at least two perspectives on this particular case. The following questions should act as a guide in your analysis.

2. What are the social attitudes, norms, or circumstances that may have influenced each perspective? To what extent do these social

Assessment Details

For a company of your choice you are being asked to:-
 Identify and effectively utilise the appropriate tools and theories to evaluate the existing and potential strategies of an individual business with particular emphasis on its financial strategy
 Identify and evaluate how a business has put its strategy together, how it is financed and what its financial performance is.
 Pinpoint areas for development and how those would be financed.
 Make recommendations on its future strategy and how it would be financed
• A critical evaluation of the company’ external competitive environment with particular emphasis on the importance of the external financial environment both globally and nationally.
• A critical evaluation of the company’s internal environment with particular emphasis on its financial performance both as a company and its individual portfolio of products or strategic business units.
• A critical review of the strategic options open to the organization and how they would be financed.
• Synthesis of information to provide recommendations for the future strategic choice and direction of the organization including its finances.

The written report should take the form of a 3000 word critical literature review, with an applied section. It should include detailed references for the topic area and other supporting materials. The report should include examples and cases of theory applied in practice.

a. With reference to your chosen Multinational Enteand by using the most recent annual report published (say 2013), analyse the financial performance (in terms of profitability, liquidity and efficiency) of the company in the current year (2013) and compare this to the preceding year’s financial information (prior year 2012 comparative figures will be available in the 2013 annual report). (30 marks)
b. Discuss using the most recent annual report how the company’s earnings per share and gearing ratios compare to that of a competitor also listed in the FTSE 100 index. (10 marks)
c. Discuss how current developments in national and international tax policies will impact the company. (10 marks)

Topic: Imagine you are a migrant from one of the pre-20th C dialect regions – say which- explain what family or socio-econ circumstances caused you to migrate. Where did you go?
