Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson Compare and Contrast.

The presidential election of 1912 was the most Progressive in US history, with the two frontrunners, Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson, both espousing Progressive philosophies. Although both Wilson and Roosevelt were Progressive, their attitudes toward Progressivism differed, at least in theory. This paper will provide an opportunity to review the complex nature of Progressivism, and to explore how presidents’ policies while in office often differ from their rhetoric on the campaign trail.

Using the primary sources below, compare and contrast the two men’s principles based on their writings, and then, using the textbook and at least one secondary source from the library’s JSTOR or Project MUSE databases, compare each presidents’ political principles with his actions while in office—how well did their actions match their rhetoric?

OVERVIEW
In this paper you will revise and synthesize your previous two papers into a comprehensive essay. You will compare and contrast two works of art in terms of their visual elements (descriptions) and how they inform style and history. Please contextualize your analysis with the larger issues discussed this semester in our lectures and in our book. Use your text and and two articles from JSTOR to support your claims.

Use the artwork from Paper #1 and chose another artwork from the Metropolitan’s collection.
The second artwork must be from an art period before or after the art period of your first artwork. Paper #3 is written with the same format and principles as Paper #2, only you are working with your Metropolitan Museum of Art artwork from the beginning of the semester and choosing another artwork from the museum’s collection—from an art movement before or after the art movement of your first artwork.
