MANAGEMENT REPORT
For this assignment you are required to assume the role of a strategy consultant to your current company and prepare a strategic board level management report on the company’s key competitive strategic issues addressing the following questions:
1. Using appropriate academic models and concepts identify and discuss the main internal and external factors that have affected the chosen organisation and influenced the strategies it has employed to date. (30%)
2. Looking forwards, and again using suitable strategy models where appropriate, critically assess whether the organisation’s current strategies offer a good fit between the its resources and capabilities and the evolving external environment, identifying whether there are any areas of opportunity or risk that need to be addressed by senior management? (40%)
3. As a result of your previous analysis, identify at least two strategic options for the organization, and make recommendations to the senior management about which one of these strategies it would be best to follow, supported by your reasons and commenting on how you would implement this single strategy. Application: Understanding the Role of Models of Clinical Supervision
Prior to this course, you may have assumed that counseling and clinical supervision were analogous. Many practitioners in the field are under the impression that a good counselor makes a good supervisor. However, it is doubtful that the unique tasks of supervision can be fully addressed without a foundation and a framework from which to practice. Clinical supervision includes its own framework and processes. As a clinical supervisor in training, you learn to discriminate between these various models so you are able to identify which model compliments your own personal style. For this Application Assignment, you consider the application of specific supervision frameworks with diverse populations of supervisees.
To prepare for this assignment:
•Review Case Study: Naomi and think about using a supervision model rather than psychotherapeutic theory as a clinical supervision framework.
•Review the assigned journal articles from this week’s Learning Resources. Consider how the supervision models discussed in these articles would inform your clinical supervision of Naomi.
•Select at least one model that you would consider adopting as a framework for your clinical supervision of Naomi, and one model you would not select as a framework for your supervision.
•Conduct a literature search for at least one additional scholarly peer-reviewed article related to a model of supervision not discussed in this week’s Resources. (Therefore, your Application should include a minimum of three referenced scholarly articles.)
•Assess the different models of clinical supervision you reviewed this week, paying close attention to key concepts of the models, assumptions of the models, and related techniques and interventions.
•Consider how the dynamics of supervision might be affected by the model you would employ in a supervisory session.
•Think about diversity considerations that you would need to address in Case Study: Naomi.

A 72 years old man presents to the emergency department complaining of severe shortness of breath. He has long-standing poorly controlled hypertension and history of CAD and two MI. About one week before admission, he had an episode of substernal chest pain lasting aprox.30 minutes. Since then he has noted progressive shortness of breath to the point that he is now dyspneic on minimal exertion such as walking across the room. He noted a new onset of shortness of breath while lying down. He is only comfortable when propped up by three pillows. He is occasionally awakened from sleep acutely short of breath. On examination he is afebrile with a blood pressure of 160/100 mm Hg, heart rate of 108/min. respiratory rate of 22/min, and oxygen saturation of 88% on room air. He is pale, cool, and diaphoretic. Jugular venous pressure is 10 cm H2O. Chest auscultation reveals rales in both lungs to the mid lung fields. Cardiac examination is tachycardia with qudible S3 and S4. No murmurs or rubs are heard. Extremities are without edema. The ECG shows left ventricular hypertrophy and Q waves in the anterior and lateral leads, consistent with his patient’s history of hypertension and myocardial infarction. Chest x-ray film reveals bilateral fluffy infiltrates consistent with pulmonary edema. he is admitted to the ICU with diagnosis of congestive heart failure and possible myocardial infarction. ( A).
