find a newspaper article about the pressure young females face based off of media that makes an editorial argument. please attach a photocopy of the article to this paper and it needs to be shown exactly where it is from in the bibliography. the paper must 1) clearly state what it is that the author is trying to say. in other words, whats their main statement? many editorials will make more than one specific statement, but you can identify one point that you are interested in researching.
2) the rest of the paper should use academic research to analyze whether or not the statement is true. think of your research question as “the author of the news article says… (your answer to question #1 above). is that true? why/why not?” your paper must also explore why the author’s claims are or are not true.
FOR EXAMPLE (do not use this for the paper, just to get an idea): finding a newspaper editorial that says we need to get tough on crime by increasing punishment. the author therefore wants you to believe that increasing punishment will reduce crime. then you would have to clearly say that this is what the author is saying (question 1) and then find your research that examines whether increasing punishment actually reduces crime. your research question would be “the author of the news article says that increasing punishment will reduce crime. is that true?” finally you would find research that talks about about why harsher punishments do or do not reduce crime rates.

How would your life translate into a television sitcom?
