The assignment for the Negotiation & Conflict Management class is the following. On no more than 5 pages, write a synthesis of the key learning points you got from the class. This synthesis should be a professional memo for yourself: a document you will refer to in the future when you want to refresh your memory before or during an important negotiation.

Week Twelve Discussion 3
Give an example of at-risk and reckless behavior in the health care setting.
Propose ways of decreasing at-risk and reckless behavior using references from your reading.
Example: Two nurses using a hoyer lift to prevent patients from falling out of hoyer lift. At a nursing home facility I previously worked, a certified nurse aide used a hoyer lift to transfer a patient from bed to wheelchair without a two person assist which is the protocol. I was the RN charge nurse on a different floor at the time. The patient fell out of the hoyer lift and head went first. The patient was on blood thinner (coumadin), rush to the hospital and died two days later. If you can elaborate on it more it will be great.

For this assignment you are to write a culminating quantitative research report on the concepts and topics that you learned in this course. For this paper, you need to critique two or more research papers/journals that use quantitative research methods for business.
Your paper needs to include the following items:
1. Abstract
2. Scale of Data Measurement
Was it quantitative or qualitative? How did the researcher go about collecting the data?
3. Variations within the data
Include the implications this may have for business methods.
4. Concluding results
Critique the findings. What type of errors occurred in the research that may affect the outcome of the
data? Is there any missing information that should be included? Discuss how you would approach the
research and what type of questions you may ask.

Analyze the article of”Managing People using Social Information Processing Model. I will send the article and the supported reading that explains what the model is. Do not need to reference at all.

After reading from Jefferson and Adams’ works, think about the role that the writings of our nation’s founders played in shaping the structure of our society. The Declaration of Independence is obvious here, but other writings also tell us a lot about our country. How are the ideas in these documents evident in the character of American society in 2013? How have we departed from these original ideas about the ways in which people and government should interact? Ideally, choose an “angle” for your essay, rather than writing generally about “all” themes. Church and state, or taxation is examples, but the choice is yours. Remember to use quotes from/references to the documents in your answers. Write in formal, academic style.

We have already read the article: “The Power to See Ourselves” by Paul Brower, and we have discussed the article in class.

Your assignment is to write a synthesis of the article (identify important points) and a personal reflection. The personal reflection should include your reaction to the article and how you might use the information in the article to enhance your leadership skills. The length of this assignment should be the equivalent of about 2 pages.
