Using a source for scholarly articles, locate at least three real world examples of the
various tax incentive strategies that public agencies use. Describe how the incentives function within the community they are in and how effective each incentive has been in helping to create jobs, bring in money, and aid in economic development of the community. Discuss the similarities and differences among the three examples you chose.

Focus of the Research Paper

The paper must meet the following criteria:
• Show connections for at least two continents (Africa, America, Caribbean, and Europe). Provide detailed information how slave came to be in each of the two continents.
• Include some aspect of slavery or the slave trade (how it worked and who all were slaves).

Writing the Research Paper
The Research Paper:
• Must be eight to ten double-spaced pages in length (not including title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the approved APA style guide.

– Date submitted
• Must include an introductory paragraph with a succinct thesis statement.

The Final Project for this course bridges the gap between theory and practice in public budgeting and financial management by focusing on what professionals and administrators actually do in the field. To this end, your task is to analyze an actual budget, offering insight, analysis, and recommendations about the chosen agency.
Your first task is to find a public budget to analyze. It is suggested you focus on a city/county department, a small municipality/township, a school district, a special district (such as a forest preserve district, stadium district, or water district), a community college, a small public university, or a single state agency. Be sure not to choose a budget that is too large to analyze in one written exercise. Most budgets are readily available on the institution’s website or by contacting
the budgeting/finance department. Many local libraries will also have these documents.
In your analysis, you should address the following items/questions:
•Offer a brief overview of your chosen agency.
What are its primary functions and roles in the community?
•What are the primary expenditures for your chosen agency?
•How do these expenditures determine public policy priorities?
•Has the agency’s budget increased or decreased since last year? What does this indicate about the success of the agency and its ability to deliver services?
•Is the agency allocating resources wisely?
•What recommendations would you offer, in terms of resource allocation, for the agency in the future?

a. Identify Kohlberg’s six stages of moral development supporting each stage with an actual or hypothetical scenario/example.

Within the issue of food processing, there are many debates and arguments circling. Analyze the topic carefully, and choose one particular issue to write about that is related to food processing. Then develop a 4-page persuasive argument essay about that issue where you synthesize ideas from at least two sources to support your own argument. You should 1) address counterargument both in your introduction and body, 2) integrate at least two sources from those that were assigned in class using MLA-style quotes or paraphrases, and 3) have a properly formatted and properly placed MLA Works Cited page for the sources that you use. You may include personal experience into this essay where relevant and applicable.

To get points for this, you must arrive to class 1) on-time, 2) bring five copies of the a thesis and four topic sentences (three supporting the thesis and one counterargument, 3) actively participate in the workshop activities of the day, and 4). I am requesting a thesis and four topic sentence for now.
