Answer one of these two questions: a. Ideally, multinationals should standardize their message worldwide to benefit from economies of scale and other cost savings. What prevents companies from using a standardized message worldwide? or b. Describe how media formats, features, and trends differ around the world.
Develop a Narrative
Write a narrative of at least 2 paragraphs in length, answering the following questions:
1. What are the patterns or dynamics seen through the generations or unique to one generation? Identify at least 3 insights or dynamics using the elements described in Step 1.
2. What are the possible uses of Genograms in family work, whether case management or family therapy? Describe at least two applications.
Read Case Study 14-1: Promoting Coke in South Africa and answer the following questions in an essay format.
1. Evaluate Coke’s market position in South Africa relative to other competitors and other businesses.
2. Evaluate the different types of consumer promotions used in South Africa to increase sales for Coca-Cola South Africa. Are there any types of sales promotions that should not have been used in a country characterized by a wealth gap, with a substantial proportion of the population below the poverty line? Explain.
Your answers must include content and cite reference materials where appropriate. To assist in this requirement, a good rule of thumb is that each answer should be approximately 200 to 250 words in length.
Choose one possible research topic from the list below. You do not need to respond to the question posed in the research topic, simply use it to answer the study design questions that follow.

Step 2: Design a Study
Now that you have chosen a research topic, answer each of the four questions below. Base your answers on your readings about psychological research methods.
Study Design Questions:
Would you choose to use an experimental method or a correlational method to study this topic?
Describe how you would carry out your study. In other words, state exactly what you would do in your study.
Do you anticipate any confounding variables or expectancy effects in your study? If yes, describe them. If no, explain why not.
Discuss how you would approach informed consent, risk/gain assessment, intentional deception, and debriefing in your study.
SECTION A
1. Describe how to implement a compiler for a language in the same language (“bootstrap- ping”).
2. Invent a syntax for an APL-like matrix-based language that uses ordinary characters.
3. Write a list of interesting operations on strings and compare your list with the predefined operations of SNOBOL and Icon.
4. Write a list of interesting operations on sets and compare your list with the predefined operations of SETL.
5. Simulate a (universal) Turing machine in several programming languages.
SECTION B
1. Translate (part of) the BNF syntax of C or Ada into syntax diagrams.
2. Write a program in Pascal or C that compiles and executes, but computes the wrong answer because of a comment that was
not closed.
3. Even if Ada used the style of comments used in C and Pascal, bugs caused by not closing comments would be less frequent.
