In this paper, students will analyze and discuss small business growth in terms of growth strategy, business forms, short and medium term goals, financing assistance, organizational structure and staffing needs, customers and promotion, and ethics and social responsibility. Students are expected to apply business and management concepts learned in our course.

• What business form might make sense, given her expansion plans, and why?

his is an opportunity to create a “dream” benefits plan for a fictional company. Although the costs of offering benefits is a substantial consideration for any employer, for the purposes of this assignment, please make the assumption that costs are not an issue. Proposal Specifications

E-mail messages have become the most common form of communication in businesses. Unfortunately, business people often create e-mail messages that are too informal given that those messages are as official as business letters. Learning to create proper e-mail messages is, therefore, of the utmost importance. Using the information from the Modules on E-mail Messages and on Business Letters, students should create one e-mail message to address the following scenario: You are the leader of an IT group developing a mobile app for your customers. Your group needs to meet to finalize the details of the app. Specifically, the group needs to discuss the use of QR codes versus Near Field Communication technology, the timeframe for completion and release, and the price of the app. As the leader of the group, create an e-mail inviting the other members of your group to a meeting to address the items mentioned above. Specify a time and a place for the meeting. Attach an agenda for the meeting (Do not “really” attach an agenda, but write the text of the e-mail as if you were attaching an agenda). The goal (in terms of the action required) of the meeting will be to present a two-page report to the group’s supervisor outlining how the group is handling the completion and the deployment of the app. Students should create a word document with the text of this invented e-mail message. They should include the To, From, Date, and Subject information that the e-mail system would normally generate.Â

– Grading

This assignment will be graded on content and context. If students present a text that meets all the requirements, they will earn 30 points. If students present a text free of mistakes, they will not lose points. This assignment requires the creation of an e-mail message. This message should follow the MADAM strategy presented in the Module on E-mail Messages (Lesson 3) and the Module on Letters (Lesson 3). Grammatical mistakes, punctuation mistakes, formatting mistakes, syntactical mistakes, and all other types of mistakes will be deducted from the total earned at the cost of 0.3 points per mistake, with a maximum of 3 points deducted. The presence of the proper file extension and identification header will always be verified. The absence of either will cost students 2 points. See page 4 of the Syllabus for instructions on how to do a proper file extension and a proper identification header.
