The purpose of the Final Project is to demonstrate your ability to conduct an abbreviated literature review on a forensic psychology topic of your choosing and report your findings from the literature review.

 

 

 

Your Final Project should include 12–15 research articles on your chosen topic and should be empirically based. The articles also should represent contemporary findings on your topic and come from peer-reviewed journals. Your Final Project should end with a summary of the major findings from your literature review and your recommendation of possible future directions that research on your chosen topic may cover.

 

A superior Final Project demonstrates breadth and depth of knowledge, and critical thinking appropriate for graduate-level scholarship. The paper must follow APAPublication Manual guidelines and be free of typographical, spelling, and grammatical errors. The paper should be 10–12 pages, not counting the title page, abstract, or references. Please note that quantity does not always correspond to quality, and a well-written Final Project that includes all of the necessary information can be accomplished in fewer than the maximum number of pages. The Final Project for this course will be evaluated according to all four indicators in the Application Assignment and Final Project Writing Rubric located in the Course Information area.

 

References

Please note that you must use primary sources. Peer-reviewed journal articles should make up the bulk of your references (80% or more). In other words, you may use non-peer reviewed and non-empirically based material in addition to your 12–15 peer-reviewed, empirically based journal articles. If referring to a book as one of your non-peer reviewed, non-empirically-based sources, be sure to include all information in APA style, including specific page numbers. Note that an article referred to in a book is a secondary source and does not count as one of your peer-reviewed, empirically-based articles. You must go directly to the original source for your 12–15 peer-reviewed, empirically based articles.

Conclusion

This should tie all your ideas together.  It should not introduce any new ideas.  This should be about 1 paragraph long.  A paragraph is four to six sentences in length.

Should the saying “all is fair in love and war” apply to competitive intelligence? Why do you think so?

I think the statement “all is fair in love and war” definitely applies to competitive intelligence. Ultimately you want to find out exactly what your competitors are doing and create something better.  I think it is fair to find out how to win, anything goes in business, its all about who gets there first. For example the guy who created Facebook, Zuckerberg took some of the other students information they gave him on what they wanted to create and he made it into a better website. He had his intelligence plus his competitors intelligence and created one of the greatest social media sites known to name.  To me there is nothing wrong with what he did, and all is ultimately fair.

Overview

Each student will create a detailed, organized, unified technical solution given the scenario described below. The submission will be in a written format, with at least one diagram, and may include additional diagrams, charts or tables. The assignment is meant for students to enhance their mastery of the material and to provide a creative and realistic way in which to apply knowledge from this course.

 

Scenario

Worldwide Advertising, Inc. (referred to as “WAI”) has hired you as an IT consultant for implementing their Windows network infrastructure. WAI is a new advertising firm, and they are currently hiring staff, establishing two locations, and have a need to get their internal IT services configured. They do not yet have an IT staff, but when they do, the IT staff will take over all aspects of IT administration. You are required to supply WAI with a solution which describes the implementation and configuration of their core IT services. Cost is not a significant concern – WAI wishes to implement the “right” solution to fit their needs now and for the next 2-3 years.

 

There are several details about WAI which will have an impact on your choices:

 

• WAI will start with 90 employees, in the following departments:

 

o  Executives (9 employees) – manage and run the company

 

o  Accounts and Sales Department (15 employees) – perform market research and maintain accounts

 

o  Creative, Media and Production Department (49 employees) – advertising

 

o  Human Resources and Finances (12 employees) – perform HR and financial duties

 

PART 1

Design a database schema for the proposed Database Design Proposal in Module 1.

Identify and list all relevant entities and their relationships:

1) Select no less than five entities.

2) Provide a diagram.

3) Map this to a database schema.

4) Provide a data dictionary for all entity attributes.

Focus on one or two areas of your design that seemed especially difficult to develop and provide a brief assessment of the difficulty you encountered in modeling or mapping to the schema. In addition, provide the rationale for the design chosen, its limitations, and its possible extensions.

Tip: If you do not have access to ER modeling software or a diagramming tool like Visio or OmniGraffle, you can simply create diagrams in a presentation tool like PowerPoint. This is an essential skill which is used in the field.

PART 2

Details:
1) Based on the feedback received on your Module 2 assignment Database Schema, provide SQL statements to create the (revised) database and populate it with sample data (at least four rows per table).

2) Modify the database by adding an additional column (“Deleted_Date”) to those tables that represent entities that could contain data which can be deleted and justify your rationale in a short paragraph. In addition, explain what the tradeoffs are in using a marker-column for deletion, as opposed to actually deleting a row from a table?

For this assignment, use the following database schema:

1) Patient—PatientID, Name, DOB

2) Doctor—DoctorID, Name, MedLicenseNumber, Phone

3) Medication—MedicationID, BrandName, GenericName

4) Prescription—PrescriptionID, Date, PatientID, PrescriberID, MedicationID

Specify the SQL queries to retrieve:

1) A list of all doctors.

2) The number of patients that were born before 01/01/1994.

3) The patient information along with the ID of any prescribing doctor for each patient.

Part 2

 

EFAS table Using the information gathered from your SWOT analysis conducted in Unit II, create an EFAS table for the company you researched. Use Microsoft Word to create your table. It should have five columns. The first column heading should be entitled External Factors, the second column should be titled Weight, the third column should be titled Rating, the fourth column should be titled Weighted Score, and the fifth column should be titled Comments. (Refer to page 121 in your textbook for an example.)

1. In the External Factors column, list at least six opportunities you saw in the company you researched. Underneath the opportunities, list at least six threats you saw in the company you researched.

2. In the Weight column, assign an importance factor to each of these issues from 0.0-1.0 (1.0 is most important; 0.0 is least important). These ratings are based on the probable impact on a particular company’s current strategic position. The higher the weight, the more important the factor to the current and future success of the company. You may not be privy to the exact information for this company, so in some cases you will need to use your best judgment. (You will justify your weighting in column five.)

3. In the Rating column, assign a rating factor from 5.0-1.0 (5.0 is outstanding; 1.0 is poor). These ratings are based on the company’s response to that particular factor. It is a judgment call on how the company is currently dealing with each specific factor. Once again, you may need to make an estimate in this area if you are not privy to all of the information. (You will justify your weighting in column five.)

4. In the Weighted Score column, multiply the weight from column two by the rating in column three to get the factor’s weighted score. 5. In the Comments column, explain why a particular factor was selected and how its weight and rating were estimated. 6. At the bottom of column four, add the weighted scores for the external factors. Is the company doing better or worse than others in the same industry? Complete this answer underneath your table. Format your assignment using APA Style. Use your own words, and include citations and references as needed to avoid plagiarism.
