Choose one (1) of the following case studies for Assignment 2:

Case 9.1: Unprofessional Conduct?

  1. Do you believe the Board of Education violated her right to privacy? Were they justified in firing her? Explain two to three (2-3) major reasons why or why not.
  2. Was Pettit’s behavior unprofessional or immoral? Do you believe she was unfit to teach? Provide a rationale for your position.
  3. If teachers have good performance inside the classroom, should they also be held to a higher moral standard outside the classroom? Explain why or why not.
  4. Analyze five (5) behaviors you believe would show unprofessional or immoral conduct for a teacher.

Case 8.4: Have Gun, Will Travel…to Work

  1. Do you have not only a legal, but a moral right to own a gun? Do you believe that you have either a moral or a legal right to park a car with a loaded gun in a privately owned parking lot, regardless of what the lot’s owner wants?
  2. In your view, do employees have either a moral or a legal right to park cars with guns in them in the company parking lot? What do you believe should be the property rights and safety concerns of employers?
  3. Do you think state legislatures are right to get involved, or should the matter be left to companies and employees to settle?
  4. Because the workplace is the company’s private property, the company could choose to allow employees to bring guns not only into the parking lot, but also into the workplace itself. Are there ever circumstances in which doing so might be reasonable? Or would the presence of guns automatically violate the rights of other employees to be guaranteed a safe working environment?

Identify at least one performance issue that could be contributing to the team’s poor performance and at least three root causes for the performance issue(s) identified.

1: Team Performance Report

A manager who understands the concepts for developing and managing teams and can apply those concepts to improve team performance is likely to be successful in managing a high-performing team. In this assignment, you will apply these concepts to a given situation. You will examine issues within a team, uncover root causes, and develop a plan to improve team performance.

Research concepts to improve team performance using your textbook, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet. Select at least threeauthoritative resources, one of which may be your text, to use in this assignment.

Assume, you are the supervisor of a product development team that creates designs for widgets for your company’s ABC product line. After they are approved, the designs are sent to manufacturing. The last set of designs your team submitted to manufacturing were altered to reduce manufacturing costs as mandated by senior management. The widgets were then manufactured using the altered design. Unfortunately, the sales of the widgets are not making the target numbers as published in the sales marketing plan. Your team believes the poor sales results are because of the changes in design.

Additionally, there have been some performance issues with the widgets produced so far. Each time one is found, it is brought to the attention of top management and your team. Your team provides a fix to the design, which is then sent to manufacturing. Management is concerned about the number of performance issues that keep arising week after week. Your team has regular, weekly meetings to discuss risks, issues, product improvement ideas, and the status of any project work currently underway. These meetings have become unproductive and a waste of time because team members continue to rehash old issues. They believe senior management is to blame for the market failure of your teams’ product. As a result, you are unable to get anything accomplished. One team member is particularly outspoken and has become belligerent in your team meetings.

The team seems unfocused and unwilling to look at root causes for the poor development of designs that do not perform well. Several of the team members are even looking for new jobs because they are afraid they will soon be laid off. Both motivation and morale continue to decline each week.

Download and review the Team Performance Report template from the Doc Sharing area. Analyze the case information and fill in the template.

Write a detailed report for senior management addressing the issues you described in the Team Performance Report. Use the filled in template to support your assertions.

In your report, include the following:

  • Identify at least one performance issue that could be contributing to the team’s poor performance and at least three root causes for the performance issue(s) identified.
  • Develop two specific suggestions for improvements that could positively impact each root cause. You will have six suggestions in all.
  • Create a communication plan for your performance improvement suggestions for three different audience types in the organization. Include at least one written communication sample piece. Identify as many details as possible that will need to be considered for each audience type.
  • Determine two strategies for motivating/incentivizing employees that would improve performance and morale. Justify your suggestions.
  • Identify two strategies for developing the team as a whole. Justify your strategies.

Give reasons and examples from your selected resources in support of your assertions.

Write a 5–6-page paper in Word format. Be sure to include your filled-in Team Performance Report. Apply APA standards to citation of sources. Use the following file naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_M3_A2.doc.

Explain rising industrialization and modernization increase the likelihood of family violence.

1. How is domestic violence similar in India, Japan, Vietnam, and Africa? How does it differ? Also, Leeder notes that rising industrialization and modernization increase the likelihood of family violence. Why, then, is wife battering also common in industrialized countries such as Japan and the United States?

2. Why do most of the women in these countries never complain about domestic violence? What individual, legal, historical, and cultural factors help explain their silence?

3. Leeder urges the reader to suspend “any ethno- centric value judgments” about family violence. What does she mean? And, if we do so, does this

mean that the global community shouldn’t inter- fere with a country’s violent practices against women and children?

Analysis of impact of pharmacological intervention .

Emily Grace is a 45 year old woman, 5 ft. 8 in.,180 lbs., of Hispanic descent, who was admitted to a medical surgical unit with a small bowel obstruction. She has had a 4 day history of abdominal pain and vomiting, with up to 12 vomiting episodes per day. The vomitus is blood streaked at times. Her medical history includes an 8 year history of hypertension and type 2 diabetes for 12 years. Recent surgeries include an appendectomy 3 years ago. She is married and has gone to community college and is of the Episcopal religion. She is an administrative assistant. She is allergic to Penicillin and Compazine.

She had had an uncomfortable night with pain from 5-8/10 with minimal relief from the morphine pain medication. Her husband spent the night with her and he is quite worried and frustrated. Mrs. Grace says her pain is in the upper abdomen with right side worse than left. The pain is intermittent and feels like bad labor pains. Her abdomen is distended and diffusely tender to palpation. Her abdomen seems more distended this am. There are minimal, hypoactive bowel sounds. The NG drained 600 mL dark brown green drainage this shift. Her urine output was 75 mL with dark yellow, thick urine. Her medication orders include Morphine Sulfate 2 mg, IVP, q2h, prn pain; Ciprofloxacin 400 mg q12hr IVPB; Metronidazole 1200 mg IV x1 dose then 500 mg q6hr prn pain, Promethazine HCL 10 IV q4-6hr prn; Regular insulin per sliding scale.

Assess this data utilizing the Roy Model in the handouts given throughout class and the Roy Holistic Manual. Look at all modes and components and cover only the ineffective behaviors and negative stimuli.

1st level assessment – behaviors clearly identified

2nd level assessment – F C R
All 4 modes…..

Pathophysiology –

Radiographic examinations and lab test associated with stimuli –

Pharmacological intervention –

NSG DX – one in each mode…

Educational component –

Transfer/Discharge plans –

Dilemmas identified –

Grand Rounds
1. Use your Roy Holistic Workbook, Lecture Notes and past case studies to help you with your final Roy Care Plan
2. There are 8 case studies. I would like to have all eight done for Grand Rounds. This means we need 8 groups. That means that there will be 8 groups of 2 or 3. 4 in a group is not acceptable. 1 in a group is not acceptable. If you are in a group of two you may need another group to come and help you out with your skit or video presentation. You will be responsible for all the work, they will come be actors and participate with you for the skit portion only. Your presentation and paper will be your groups responsibility.
3. Next class session we will pick out of the hat, the topics that each group will choose. This will give each group the same chance at all topics.

The Group is to present the following for your case:
Assess the data using the Roy Adaptation Model.
o Look at all modes (4) and components and cover only the ineffective behaviors and negative stimuli.
o (1st and 2nd level assessment of mode behaviors and stimuli)
o For example: if the topic of your case study is physiological, then your top priority nursing diagnosis should be from that group, then go on to look at the role mode, self-concept mode, and the interdendence mode.
o Top priority Nursing diagnosis and appropriate plan of care
o Explanation of Pathophysiology –
o Not to be focus of the presentation-cover adequately not in depth
o Analysis of relevant of diagnostic/ lab data
o Analysis of impact of pharmacological intervention
o Teaching/ counseling needs of patient/family
o Transfer or discharge planning and or referral to community agencies, if any
o Ethical dilemmas/concerns with case

For satisfactory grand rounds:
Present material in a professional manner
– Provide audience with supportive material and handouts or use power point or audiovisual. Provide Instructor with copy.
– Stimulate group participation
– Each group member is to participate by taking a portion of the presentation.
Case study may be presented by skit, video, or??? Please do not exceed 5 – 10 minutes with this portion of the case study. Be creative, have fun, be professional.

Your Power Point presentation will be the rest of your time frame—10 minutes. Be complete, be concise.

If you go over your allotted 20 minutes—you will be deducted 10 points. With the 8 case studies, the total time is 160 minutes. This gives a 5 minute or less turn around time of 4 min. adding another 40 minutes to the class time.

Good luck, contact me questions.

The case study will be written up and presented to the instructor with a Face sheet and a reference page. Please use citations within your presentation for material that needs to be referenced.

Physiological Areas that are covered by the case studies:
1. Urinary Elimination
2. Bowel Elimination
3. Activity
4. Rest
5. Protection
6. Neurosensory
7. Fluid and Electrolytes
8. Oxygenation

Examine the Asian Dub Foundation’s ‘New Way, New Life’.

Q.1
Examine the Asian Dub Foundation’s ‘New Way, New Life’ (from Community Music, Universal 2000) and Tim Blair’s ‘Last drinks in Lakemba: Tim Blair takes a look insid Sydney’sMuslim Land’ (The Daily Telegrap August 18, 2014), in light of postcolonial theory. You may draw on postcolonial notions of otherness, hybridity, ambivalence, essentialism, orientalism, resistance, etc. in your comparative analysis.

Need to analyse between these two texts. Use the latest and correct APA referencing- author date and speech marks.

I will upload the two texts they are attached with other texts and questions but just answer the first one which iv listed above.

Please refer to marking criteria which above the question in the file I will upload.

Also need to use 3 sources that I will give you a list to use from which is a must then you can use the other 6 sources on any other Academic sources/Articles.

Id suggest use any of these 3:

Frantz Fanon (1967) from The Wretched of the Earth, Harmondsworth: Penguin

you can use all 4 but minimum 3 of them and 6 others.

In working with the management teams of UWEAR and PALEDENIM during the merger, you uncover the fact that they do not currently have a written code of conduct. Both companies have operated under an unwritten code that was never formalized or put into writing. You have scheduled a meeting with the UWEAR and PALEDENIM management teams to discuss this issue. Answer the following:
•How will you communicate your message to the management teams?
•What is the purpose of a code of conduct?
•Why is it important for a company to have a written code of conduct?
•What issues should be considered in drafting a code of conduct?
•Once a code is created, how is it disseminated and implemented?

Identify areas where team coordination might be a problem and communication difficulties could occur.

Assume you are the leader of a global team that is charged with developing a market plan for a new breakfast cereal. Select a country in South America or Asia, and assume that 8 members of the 12-member team are in that country. Search the internet for information about the culture of that country that will help you avoid communication problems with the other team members. Consider geography, national holidays, language, customs, and history. Identify areas where team coordination might be a problem and communication difficulties could occur.
