Computations arranged in ‘butterfly’ formation are one way of calculating FFTs.

Why are MP3 audio files and JPEG image files so much smaller and more compressed than their lossless digital counterparts? The most common algorithm for compressing digitised versions of analogue sources is the Fast Fourier Transform, or FFT. Because FFTs are so widely used, computer scientists need very efficient algorithms to calculate them.
Computations arranged in ‘butterfly’ formation are one way of calculating FFTs. One butterfly-shaped computational unit is shown in Fig. 1. The output cell on top stores the sum of two numbers, while the one on the bottom stores the difference.

A series of such units can be organised to perform multiple operations in parallel, as shown in Fig. 2, which uses 12 of the units shown in Fig. 1.

To prepare for this Assignment:
Review your weekly Learning Resources with a focus on the ‘butterfly’ formation(s) for computation.
Perform additional research on ‘butterfly’ formation(s) for computation as needed.
To complete this Assignment:
Submit a paper in which you solve the following problem:
Assume a computational time for each butterfly in Fig. 1 to be 3 seconds. Compute the time necessary for the arrangement in Fig. 1 to perform 12 computations (without any parallelism).
Compute the output of the network in Fig. 2, given the 8 values shown for inputs.
Calculate the time needed to perform the computation on the 8 values shown in Fig. 2.
Calculate the time needed for the arrangement in Fig.2 to perform the computation on 100 8-value data sets (Hint: Exploit pipelining).

Social Impact on the Brazil World Cup 2013.

Hi

I am studying sports managerment in Murcia Spain and I need to write a thesis on a topic of my choice and I have chosen to write about the Social Impact on the Brazil World Cup 2013 and I want to compare it to other sporting events mainly the London Olympics and what it can learn from each other I have attached a copy of a intern report that I had done when i work in a professional basketball team maybe you can cooperate that into it and plus please say that I am passionate about sport especially football and watch all the major events as muc

Explain report consists of two parts. Lab A, and Lab B.

I’ve attached two pdf files. This is one lab report consists of two parts. Lab A, and Lab B.
I don’t want you to do the whole thing. Just state the purpose, Introduction, and Discussion.
State them in order as it’s shown in each section. Don’t please answer them in one paragraph. I need bullet point or numbers for each of introduction and discussion questions. Thanks and if you have any question don’t hesitate to ask. For sources you can use as much sources you want. there is no limited number of sources.

Discuss role of a Human Resources Manager for the health care organization and, during the course.

NSTRUCTIONS NOT FOLLOWED: •To demonstrate your mastery of the concepts and strategies presented during this course, you will develop a Supervisors’ Policies and Procedures Manual (PPM) for a department operating within a real or fictitious health care facility or organization.
•You will assume the role of a Human Resources Manager for the health care organization and, during the course, will develop a PPM that will highlight key concepts, strategies, topics, and issues covered during the course.
•The final paper will consist of four phases each worth 50 pts., and a final compilation worth 100 pts. This writing-intensive course will produce a final paper of 2500+ words written in APA style. The Supervisors’ Policies and Procedures Manual final Research Paper is due Week 11.
◦Final Paper: Phase I (LP2 & LP3) – Identifying Policy Needs, Overview of Expectations for Supervisors
◦Final Paper: Phase II (LP4 & LP5) – Measuring Employee Satisfaction, Reward System, Supervisory Communication Skills
◦Final Paper: Phase III (LP6 & L7) – Legal Considerations, Identifying & Selecting the Best Qualified Candidate, New Hire Orientation
◦Final Paper: Phase IV (LP8 & LP9) – Performance Evaluations, Staff Development, Managing Workplace Conflicts
◦Final Research Paper – (LP10) – Compilation of final Supervisors’ Policies and Procedures Manual

1. I have submitted the first three phases and have gotten F’s in them. I would have asked for revision right away but I have to wait until the instructor grade me. the paper was written wrong and I haven’t got more than 10 points form any of the three phase I have submittd. phase five is due this weekend. I have pasted the comments I have received from each phase I have submitted to my instructor below. please get back to me as soon as possible.

phase 1 comments.

Keji,

A good start, but the following needs to be addressed:

Almost none of the policies covered match what is on the final. It is important that your policies on your outline for the final match what is actually on the final. You also should not have any actual content, it should just be outlining what you will be including.

phase ll instructor comments.

Hi Keji,

I cannot award much credit here as what you wrote does not really address the specific policies and procedures and it is just a paper.

Here are some sample policies and procedures.

https://businessresources.peoples.com/SBR_template.cfm?DocNumber=PL05_0020.htm

Policies tell supervisors what needs to be done and procedures tell supervisors how it is done.

phase 111

Keji,

I cannot award much credit. This does not address all of the required elements and this phase should not be able to be completed in a page and a half.

An example of a policy you might use is:

“Managers must follow these acts when hiring (you would list the acts we have discussed, such as Americans with Disabilites)”

You procedure would list things like:

“You cannot ask these specific questions” “These questions are standard

Explain the problems of development and what policies were adopted to tackle these, successfully or otherwise.

Presentation
You are asked to present a case study focusing on development and change in one country or economy in the Asia Pacific Region within the context of regional and global development.
Presentations should be no more than 15 minutes in length with a further 5 minutes for questions and discussion. The session should be led by the group.
Presentations will be delivered as a group but each group member is also required to make an individual contribution to conclude the presentation.
You will be given an overall group mark; in addition, you will gain an additional +15%/-15% of the mark as an individual for your final contribution. In other words, in a group that receives a mark of 50, your own final grade can be anywhere between 35 and 65. Thus, it is in your interests to ensure the group as a whole performs well, but your final grade will be largely dependent on your own contribution.
• The group will prepare a one page outline of the presentation and submit it through the electronic ‘turn it in’ system before they give the oral presentation.
• The written outline must contain
o The names of the group
o The title
o The central question to which the presentation is providing an answer
o The central argument of the presentation
o The structure of the presentation (i.e. 3 or 4 points which will be expanded in the oral presentation)
o A fully referenced list of sources
• Each member of the group must take part in the oral presentation.
• The presentation will last a maximum of 15 minutes, followed by up to 5 minutes discussion time.
• Please note this is partly an examination of your ability to be succinct, to précis and to summarise and communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner. Written presentations longer than one page will therefore be penalised.
• Any powerpoint presentation used must also be submitted via turnitin before the presentation.

The case study is an opportunity to provide a critical consideration of the challenges of development in the Asia Pacific region.
Case Studies aim to investigate a contemporary phenomenon within its real life context. They allow examination of the complexities involved, revealing what is both unique and universal in understanding, opening up insights and alternative interpretations.
Your aim is to explain the development experience e.g. fast/uneven/slow/crisis-ridden growth; and to explain the problems of development and what policies were adopted to tackle these, successfully or otherwise.
You should look at:
(i) the interaction and/or balance between the internal and external factors in shaping the pattern of modernisation and development in a single country/economy within the region;
(ii) its integration into the regional/global economy and world order.

You should therefore consider the particular features of that country/economy and the way it has been inserted/inserted itself into the regional and global economic system. You may for example look at the following (N.B. This is not an exhaustive list):
the characteristics and role of the state and the policies pursued
the role and relative power of different classes or social groups in development
the role of national identity and ethnic diversity in shaping the development experience
patterns of social and economic change and economic performance
the relation importance of politics and political and socio-economic change to the development experience
the influence of international and other regional factors in relation to social, economic and political change e.g. the role of the US, Japan; the impact of the rise of China

You may find it helpful to identify the different stages of development – in what ways were these different? What were the turning points?
A consideration of theories of development e.g. modernisation theory, dependency theory, Wallerstein’s World System Theory; neoliberalism; theories of the developmental state, may be helpful in evaluating the experience.
You should not regard these as rigid guidelines but should endeavour to structure your discussion as appropriate to the particular case. But you should make clear the relationship between the aspects you use and development and change in your case study.
You should avoid the pitfalls of too much detail and long description of historical background. The aim is to use information in an argument or explanation – you need to be selective, choosing those points that help to develop your line of reasoning, explaining why they are important.
For your individual contribution, you should choose from the following:
• an evaluation of the case study – the strengths and weaknesses of the development experience
• use of theory/theories to evaluate and as a guide to policy recommendations;
• a discussion of key lessons to be learnt from the development experience;
• turning points in the development experience and how problems have been overcome;
• role and relations with the wider region; future prospects and directions

N.B. Don’t forget to provide your bibliography.

Comments from Support Team: The topic is about South Korea. Our country is South Korea and it can choose one side to talk about, such as from economic, culture. We want talk about South Korea culture.

Evaluate at least two work motivation theories and how they can be applied in order to improve employee recruitment and retention at JC’s Casino.

Read the following scenario:

You are an independent consultant who has recently been hired by JC’s Casino to help improve retention issues concerning the dealers and housekeepers. Most of the dealers have been leaving the casino to work at other casinos in the area, even though JC’s Casino pays better than their local competition. On several exit interviews, many of the dealers have cited the pit boss, Joe, as being “toxic, overbearing, evil, and incompetent.” Joe is the casino owner’s step-son and the HR director, Tom Sneed, is afraid to confront the owner.

Among the housekeeping staff, there has been an above normal rate of absenteeism and high turnover of rooms. Many of the managers who work in accounting, payroll, and other departments have had to ask their full-time employees to help cover for housekeeping by cleaning rooms periodically. Because of this problem, the hotel has had to adjust their check in times from 3 p.m. (the industry standard) to 6 p.m. Customers have arrived earlier and the hotel has had to accommodate them by creating a room to hold luggage. They have also had to hire staff to man the luggage room.

The director of housekeeping, Andrew Keehn, has been working hard to add more staff but he states “good help is hard to find.” The housekeeper’s current hourly wage is comparable to other casinos in the area but because of the staffing shortage, the housekeepers have to clean more rooms per day than their counterparts. The casino owner only knows that there are some issues with keeping the dealers and that some customers were upset because they had to wait to check in. You have been hired for a quick fix and your suggestions were needed yesterday.

Write a 1,400- to 1,700-word paper in which you identify each issue and make recommendations to JC, the casino president, on how to improve overall retention. What the scenario does not provide, you can create. Be sure to include the following in your assessment:

  • Evaluate at least two work motivation theories and how they can be applied in order to improve employee recruitment and retention at JC’s Casino.
  • Examine possible occupational stressors that are negatively influencing recruitment and retention. What improvements would you suggest to alleviate these stressors?
  • Examine the role of job satisfaction and its influence on retention at the casino. Provide recommendations for improving job satisfaction of the employees and how that can play a part in successfully improving retention.
  • Discuss counterproductive employee behavior occurring at the casino. What suggestions would you make to reduce the counterproductive behavior and increase productive employee behavior?

Include at least three references.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.
