Leadership Presentation

You will choose an individual that you see as a leader. You will answer seven questions based on your research of the individual. You will need to provide a conclusion that includes your own personal leadership philosophy and whether the leader you chose subscribes to the same. Each student will have a maximum of 6 minutes to present their leader. A PowerPoint presentation is expected.

3. Trends and Issues in Business Education. (2 pages)

Please list two trends/issues that are affecting today’s classrooms for business. This may also be affecting other disciplines. Discuss these trends/issues. Provide evidence of how, if these issues/trends are problematic, they might be overcome.

Perform a logical design on the proposed database environment without going through the full normalization process.  Include the identification of all entities and attributes associated with the environment.

 

Use a 2-page memo to document your logical design including the process you went through.

 

Discuss the process you went through to select the appropriate data types, primary and foreign keys, and other constraints that are necessary to maintain the integrity of the database.

Write a four to five (4-5) page paper in which you:

1. Suggest the financial ratio that most financial analysts would use to evaluate the financial condition of the company of your choice. Provide support for your rationale.
2. Speculate on the organization’s ability to meet its financial obligations as they come due. Provide support for your rationale.
3. Based on your ratio analysis, determine whether the profitability trends are favorable or unfavorable and explain your rationale.
4. Using financial ratio analysis, predict whether or not the company will be viable in five (5) years based on its performance over the past three (3) years. Provide support for your prediction.

The USA and Japan were in negotiations for a period of ten years, (1977-1988) over oranges.  The Americans had certain goals that they wanted to accomplish in these negotiations. These goals included; exporting of American oranges in the Japanese market, demand that Japan liberalizes its markets, and to eliminate the trade barriers in Japan.  The Japanese also had their own goals that they wanted to accomplish in the negotiation process.  These included; maintaining its positive image outside Japan, avoiding intervention from GATT, and to avoid sanctions from abroad.

 

Initially, the Japanese refused to negotiate right away, and started negotiating only when Americans threatened them that they would take the issue to AT panel.  Using Hofstede’s Model of Cultural Dimensions, compare and contrast the cultual differences that might influenceboth parties.

 

Based on cultural differences, develop a culturally responsive strategy for American negotiators to deal with Japanese negotiators.

1. For Step 4, “A”, you will “Assess the company’s situation” and make a preliminary decision. Please rewrite the Problem Statement before writing about “A”. By taking a good look at the entire situation, you should be able to make a tentative decision that will help you determine what steps may need to be taken to resolve the problem.  You may need to seek informed and unbiased opinions/information from other sources. You need to treat all of the options equally before making your preliminary decision. Review the information you have gathered previously from project 1 and 2 when you do this section.

 

 

You must include at least three references and citations for this APA paper.

For these reading response papers (1 page), you may pick out an element of craft (character, setting, scene, dialogue, tension, tone, narrative stance, point of view, etc.) and discuss how and why or to what effect and purpose the author uses the craft element in the story. You can compare the story to another story we’ve read. You can ask yourself what works well in the story and why?  In short, this is your chance to show what you’ve learned from the reading and it should help prepare you to contribute to our class discussion.
