Ethical Case Study #2: The KPMG Care2 System
Review the PDFs of the various KPMG cases. We have done two in class Case 1 and Case 5.
Pick one of the other five cases that interests you.
Write an analytic essay that summarizes the case for the reader, and then applies the KPMG CARE2 system to the case.
To do this successfully, you will have to Consider all the facts presented, Assess alternative actions, Review the ethical issues and Evaluate potential outcomes. Then, you will have to check your views for Consistency, Awareness, Rules and Principles, and Equity.
You should refer to the PDFs of handouts and materials we viewed in class to help you with your essay.
Remember, your essay will be judged on a systematic application of the CARE2 conditions to the case- but dissent is always welcome if it is well-reasoned.
Provide a Works Cited page and cite the case you use.
Essays should be submitted in MLA format headers, etc. The Works Cited page does not count towards the final word count, which should be at least 800 words.

Case Study 2
The Internship
Jack was just hired as a new summer intern for ABCD, LLP – a large international accounting firm. Some of his classmates have also accepted summer intern positions in this organization.
During orientation, the names and biographies of other summer interns were distributed to all the new hires. Jack noticed that Matthew Smith, one of his classmates who worked with Jack last summer at
a local accounting company, had been hired too. When reviewing Matthews information, Jack noted several significant discrepancies. Matthew appeared to have used a great deal of creative license in reporting his accomplishments.
Not only did Matthew exaggerate about the responsibilities he held for Beta Alpha Psi the National Financial Honor Society, he had completely fabricated some of his work experiences at their mutual previous employer.
ABCD, LLP, like most other companies, has thorough reference checks for full-time positions but not for summer internships.The recruiting manager asked Jack if he was looking forward to working with Matthew again this summer.

You must select a chapter from the book to write the paper on. Determine the authors thesis for that chapter (what is the author’s argument?) Write a 3-4 page double spaced paper analyzing the author’s thesis.

Describe the natural resources that are used in its production, including their origin, their price, and their significance in the price of the final product.

Write a critical analysis with 3 other sources to back your claim

You will be preparing a comparative analysis between Brazil against the U.S. healthcare system. Requirements for the paper include strict APA formatting. Make sure that you are able to find adequate references for the project (i.e., a minimum of three scholarly or primary source references. I will need an outline for the paper along with the references that you will use for the paper as soon as possible but no later than Thursday next week ( 26 of November).
