Causes of Juvenile Delinquency in Girls

Introduction

In the ancient times, it was hard to find the girls on the offensive sides of the coin. But with time, the offenses by the girls has been on the rise. The underlying reasons for their behavior have not been well known, but one thing is for sure, a lot of influences contributes to the behavior of the child (Feld, 2009).By 1980s, the juvenile delinquency for the boys was high as compared to that for the girls and. Therefore, it is estimated that that there are a lot of differences that have happened and caused the girls to behave differently from the norm. At a younger age, both boys and girls have the very active mental capacity and, therefore, they may behave in a way that can make them delinquent as explained by (Feld, 2009). It can also be attributed to drugs and public order which caused the behavior to be that way.

There are existent risk factors on the part of the girls that cause them to behave that. On consideration of delinquency for girls are; biological, psychological and environmental. While these factors are at some point very detrimental to the girl child (Sayles, 2005) , it is obvious they are unavoidable to expose the girl child to it. It is therefore very important for the society to understand the effects that come with it and how to handle them as at early age. The discussion underlying in this paper is based on longitudinal research that has been done by various studies and how they have been handled in the recent times.

Biological and Individual Factors

A girl while growing is faced with some factors that have to be taken care of as they cause the girls to behave in quite a detrimental way. Because the biological factors may be genetic to one, the criminal factor in the girl child may not be lost. Studies done by Lombroso shows that the factors on the nervous system and endocrine have been so resultant in influencing the juvenile delinquency in girls.

According to (Flannery, 2004), when a girl has been born of sinful wedlock like a rape, it is assumed that the traits of the parents may be carried along the life of that girls. While the girl grows up, it is easy to have them behave in a way that cannot be recommended for other girls. What mostly determines the fate of the child is the fact that, when the upbringing is good, chances of developing good traits is high. In any case when the mother lets the child believe that they are a product of offensive behavior, they may be forced to have a revengeful life as a matter of self-satisfaction and hate (Flannery, 2004).Further, girls who are orphaned may not have a good upbringing. Lombroso studies of 1987 show that the girl delinquency was at 60 % and was attributed to both biological and individual factors. He concluded that most of the offenses are innate, and many of the girls are born with perverse propensities in which the parent has the sole responsibility to tame them around.

On the same radar, when the girl matures faster, it is always good for her growth. When the puberty stage gets them late, their behaviors tend to be detrimental as a result of them wanting to evade some facts of life. These facts are on the need to disapprove that they are not grown up enough to think like a mature person as posted by (Miller, 2002).It is always taken to be a case of ignorance too.

Stressors, Trauma and Mental Trauma

Delinquency girls are caused majorly by the inability of the body to respond to the stresses.  In 1908, Benet and Simon devised a scale of tests developed a scale that could be used to test the mental development of the kids (Gilligan, 1982).In a study that h was done, it shows that at around 5 % of the girl delinquencies, the majority are caused by mental trauma. Even though the different studies by different scientists shows that the mental trauma has no exact scale to which the rate of delinquency is caused.

Mental trauma and stresses results to delinquency because of the following reasons. According to (Gilligan, 1982) When a person is so much stressed with life, they don’t to avoid to appreciate values. In most of the cases, the value system is lost, and the person is known to occur as a result of impulses. In the same way, the girl may not be in a position to consider the consequences of the behavior. The girl at the point of mental trauma may not be in a position to question their behaviors and in turn, they fail to appreciate the moral code existing and to differentiate the right and the wrong. The last reason is the need for the girl child to compensate their inferiorities in school with delinquent behaviors (Giordano, 1986).In this case, they end up misbehaving and having a negative conception of others and themselves.

Role of Religious activities in delinquency in girls

It cannot be assumed that the role of the church, schools and society is negligible in the changing the facts on girl delinquency. Schools have an outstanding role when it comes to changing the aspects of delinquency as they help to instill discipline in girls as young as 5-year-old. The church, on the other hand, has a responsibility to teach about the ethical standards as per the expectation of the society (Miller, 2002).They, therefore, cause the stability of the girls mind and direct them to the expected needs.

If the girl child is left to hang in the balance, the eventual effect of their behaviors may not be good and as such, the impact caused goes a long way to destroying their life’s forever (Sayles, 2005).

Programming the Justice System

Since in the initial stage of the issues of the delinquency had not been so perverse as it is today, measures have been taken to ensure that the delinquent acts by the girls are tamed (Feld, 2009).The justice system has been well framed in most of the countries where the delinquent behaviors of the girls are tamed .It is also expected that within the justice system, the girls who are under mistreatment are given programs to ensure that mental depression is well handled, how to supervise and monitor them through a causal link of the same. In most cases, the justice system has sought to incorporate school and interdisciplinary models for the behaviors that cause delinquency in girls.

Conclusion

It is evident that girl’s delinquency is a challenge as at the moment. It is also true that the society has sought measures to have them put in shape. It is expected therefore that, for the delinquent cases in girls to subside, much considerations has to be put on factors as on biological, individual and mental trauma. Juvenile delinquency is on the rise and a good justice system well programmed can be so helpful in curbing the menace.

Welfare laws are bad, not for society, but for the people they are meant to help.” Discuss due soon as you can right now.

Welfare laws are bad, not for society, but for the people they are meant to help.” Discussdue soon as you can right now.

also i have to respond two people.

1-Welfare laws are definitely difficult. If you’re on Welfare you’re expected to work or go to school. That is awesome, right? Not necessarily. As soon as you start working and making a small amount of money, the resources you had slowly start going away. Day care assistance, medicaid, and food stamps are all part of the same Welfare system. If you make over a certain amount, you lose your benefits. But again, if you don’t work, you lose your assistance. For a single parent or parents with disabled children or parents, this is very difficult. They are put between a rock and a hard place.

I completely agree that there are people that play the system. Believe me, I’ve seen it. How they get away with not having to follow the rules, is beyond me. This unforunately, destroys the system for those that are trying to just get off their feet. So many needy people get turned away for the smallest detail. There has to be a better system that truly provides a benefit to those that truly need it.

2-I completely agree with you Rubi!!! Don’t get me wrong but a lot of people out there actually need it desperately and then there are those who play the system and get too much of the benifits when they really dont need it at all. Ive seen this teenager girl with 4 kids and she had told us that she had everything she needed because of welfare and all the programs they offered. Im not kidding but all her children were rockin’ jordans and expensive clothing and the whole 9 yards! I guess people choose an easy way out of working a job and want handouts. :/

I do feel sorry for the people who get overlooked when they truly need help and thats because the people who dont need it as much destroyed that oppertunity.

Describes the features of the new logo.

Please submit your completed Design Project. As you recall this project has four parts:

  1. You will need to completely re-design the IBM logo. This is your chance to be creative. Use Word, PowerPoint, or any other application with which you are familiar (and supports text and/or images) to design the new logo. The logo should represent the values of the organization.
  2. Using PowerPoint create a presentation to “sell” your logo. It will be 3-5 slides long. The first slide describes the features of the new logo. Include the logo itself, along with text describing the color selection, font choice, image choice (if used), etc.
  3. For the second slide create a one-page ad that combines images, words, and the logo itself, that introduces the “new” IBM to the employees, customers, and shareholders.
  4. For the last few slides, develop a written rationale as to how your design addresses the values of the organization and how the new logo would be perceived by the employees, customers, and shareholders. These three, very different audiences may perceive the logo in very different ways.

Criminal Process: Post-Trial

For this assignment, prepare a 3 1/2 page paper (excluding the APA title and references pages) in which you detail the process after a criminal trial. In your paper, explain what happens with the defendant and the case after an acquittal. Detail the sentencing process after conviction, and evaluate the defendant’s right of allocution. Discuss victims’ rights at sentencing. Explain when an appeal is available for either the defense or prosecution, and provide a “road map” for a court to reach the U.S. Supreme Court from a trial court.

Your paper must

  • Use at least three scholarly sources
  • Document all sources in APA style

Identify any events or developments that help explain sharp decreases or increases in your company’s stock over the period, as identified in your first graph.

Report 8 (FOSSIL GROUP INC)

This report summarizes your findings from the data presented in Report 7, and examines in depth any salient features of that data.

Audience: Think of this as a report for potential investors from a disinterested advisor. You are not trying to sell the company, rather you are giving an objective overview in the following order:

Introduce your company and give a little background about its history and performance.

Summarize how your company’s stock performed relative to the S&P 500 over the entire period, and how your company performed in the recession and recovery. Be sure to refer to the relevant graphs and/or tables explicitly. Discuss any other salient features of your company revealed in the data. You should refer to each graph and table at least once. For example, did your company stop paying dividends? If so, try to find out why. Does your company have a usually high or low Tobin’s Q value? If so, try to investigate what might be behind this measure. Identify any events or developments that help explain sharp decreases or increases in your company’s stock over the period, as identified in your first graph. You may also look at daily stock data from wrdrs site, if there was a particular news event that impacted your company’s stock. You may add a graph depicting daily stock movements to enhance your explanation.

Briefly conclude where you think this company is headed. If you dare, predict the stock return in the coming years.

We will discuss the many possible resources for this report in class. General Guidelines: Maximum length 2 pages, double spaced, with normal 12 point font, not including outside sources which should be cited in standard format. When you refer to or quote a specific reference, give enough detail to find the source in your citations. Don’t use footnotes, since this is only a short paper. For example, you may write: According to the Wall Street Journal (Sept. 24, 2011), Company X fired their chief executive office, Jane Doe, causing a sharp increase in stock price we can see in Figure 1 between September and October 2011.

Then list the Wall Street Journal article by name, date, and author in a list of your sources at the end.

Widely on theories of leadership, styles of leadership and critical leadership, and apply these critically to Steve Jobs.

Use leadership theory and concepts in the analysis and evaluation of leadership at Apple Inc.
This assignment requires you to critically evaluate the leadership of Apple Inc. A starting point might be to consider the leadership of the previous CEO Steve Jobs with reference to the literature on leadership. Steve Jobs’ leadership style was often praised – see a Harvard Business Review article of his leadership in this link (Steve Jobs). Your critique of Steve Jobs’ leadership will incorporate a regard for his strengths as a leader, but also criticisms with regard to his traits and behaviours, and reference to key leadership theories and perspectives.
You should read widely on theories of leadership, styles of leadership and critical leadership, and apply these critically to Steve Jobs. You should also incorporate a regard for the ethics of leadership. In critically evaluating leadership at Apple Inc you may want to compare his style with other leaders, including his successor as CEO at Apple Inc. Tim Cook.

Explain and discuss the above with reference to the Bar Standards Board Code of Conduct.

question 3:
–
BARRISTER
The solutions to the daily problems arising from the duties of the barrister are left to the barrister’s honour. Lord Macmillan identified five core duties of an advocate: ‘… a
duty to his client, a duty to his opponent, a duty to the court, a duty to the state and a
duty to himself’.Du Cann observed that the proper observance of these duties ‘may prevent [the barrister] ever rising to his feet at all, whilst a failure to follow them may result in an appearance before a disciplinary committee … and the striking of his name from the list of those qualified to practise in the courts’
