Distinguish between short-range (less than five years) and long-range (over five years) effects of the policy.

In this course, you have learned that social policies are formulated to solve social problems considered important by a mass of voters, media, and political actors. Social policy is but one solution to the problem—not necessarily the most rational, effective, or socially just. Social policies are human creations and, as such, can be changed. In this paper you will analyze a social policy as a tool for social justice.

**Research one social welfare policy using your textbook, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet**

Analyze the policy and address the following:

The social problem addressed by the policy

  1. What is/are the problem/s to be solved in the most fundamental terms?
  2. What is the history of the problem/s in the United States?
  3. What are the various theories about the causes of the problem/s? Based on this, what do you think is/are the most important causes/s of the problem/s?

The policy objectives, value premises, expectation, and target populations

  1. Policy objectives—overt and covert objectives: What are the stated objectives of the policy? In your judgment, what are the covert objectives of the policy?
  2. What are the values underlying the policy objectives? What values are revealed by the overt and covert objectives?
  3. What did the policymakers expect would be the result of the policy?
  4. Target segments of the population at whom policy is aimed: Discuss the direct target of the policy in terms of size and other demographic characteristics. Who are the indirect targets of the policy?

Effects of the policy

  1. Intended effects: What effects did the lawmakers intend?
  2. Unintended effects: What effects did the lawmakers not foresee?
  3. Distinguish between short-range (less than five years) and long-range (over five years) effects of the policy.

Implications of the Policy

  1. Changes in the distribution of material resources: Are there any changes to the distribution of material resources, including income and other tangible benefits, as a result of the policy for direct or indirect target groups?
  2. Changes in distribution of services, rights, and statuses: Are there any changes in services, rights, or statuses as a result of the policy?

Alternative Policies

  1. What alternative policy/policies would more effectively address the social problem discussed in the policy analysis while advancing social justice?

Write a 4–6-page paper in Word format. Apply APA standards to citation of sources. Make sure to include research in addition to the textbook from credible, scholarly sources.

Analyze the rhetorical strategies of ethos, pathos, logos in writing samples and for incorporation into essays or presentations.

The binary translation is done during the second pass.

Write an assembler for the following instructions:
add, lw, sw, li, move, beq, j
Assume that: all registers are addressed by $register-name (like $s1; see your textbook for range of valid register names and numbers); the end of program is recognized by the .end instruction, the program is loaded into memory at location 0; each label has 1 to 4 characters; there is 1 or more space between the symbols in the program.
The input to your assembler is a text file consists of 1 to 50 assembly instructions. The last instruction is .end. You can write your assembler in C++ as long as we are able to test it in the department.
The output of your program is a text file that contains the object code. The object code is represented in hex format.
Your assembler should consist of two passes.

First Pass,
During the first pass, the assembler generates a table that correlates all user-defined address symbols with their decimal equivalent value. The binary translation is done during the second pass. The content of PC (Program Counter) stores the value of the memory location assigned to the instruction or operand presently being processed. The assembler sets this counter to 0 initially. A line of symbolic code is analyzed to determine if it has a label (by the presence of a colon). If the line of code contains a label, it is stored in the address symbol table together with its decimal equivalent number specified by the content of PC. PC is then incremented by 4 and a new line of code is processed.

Second Pass,
Instructions are translated during the second pass by means of table-lookup or other procedures. There are three tables:

Pseudoinstruction table.
Instruction table.
Address symbol table.
t checks the pseudoinstruction table. A match with an entry sends the assembler to the corresponding subroutine. If the symbol encountered is not a pseudoinstruction, the assembler refers to the instruction table. If a match occurs, the instruction is converted to its equivalent machine code by the use of address symbol table (if needed). The implementations of tables 1 and 2 are optional. You must use a hash function for the implementation of Table 3.

Error Diagnostics,
The assembler should check for possible errors in the symbolic program and if there is an error it should print out the proper error message.

Note:
Please, name your file assemblylab.s (make sure your file extension is .s or .asm) and submit it as a text file

Describe the design considerations inherent in a completely engineered biological oxidation unit. Be sure and describe every aspect of the unit relevant to the design considerations.

How did the speaker finalize the claims? In other words, what links tied the speech.

This assignment is designed for you to apply the theory and skills you have learned in this class. You should plan on observing and evaluating a public speech. This means that you will be a “live-audience-member” of a public speech. The criteria employed for this analysis will be the same criteria by which we evaluate speeches in the course. As a result, you will want to focus on whether the speech contained an identifiable introduction, body, and conclusion. We will discuss the speech critique in class. This assignment will average 5-7 pages of text (do not exceed 10 pages of text), the assignment will be in Times New Roman style font, font size 12, double spaced, 1” margins (on top, bottom, right, and left sides), and APA citation guidelines will be observed. Grammar and syntax play an important role in your ability to convey arguments. I will deduct 20% from your total score for every five (5) grammatical errors. I will NOT accept late assignments..

Criterion 1: YOUR DESCRIPTION OF THE SPEECH

Please note the type of speech you are criticizing (informative, persuasive,…?). Also, note the context of the speech. In other words, did you attend a school seminar, a house of worship, a political rally,…? Explain. Describe the demographics of the audience.

Criterion 2: YOUR ASSESSMENT OF THE INTRODUCTION OF THE SPEECH

Did the speaker provide a thesis statement? What was it? Did the speaker use attention-getting devices? What were they? How effective were they? Did the speaker provide the overview of the speech? In what form was it presented? Was it in narrative form? Outline form? Overall, did the speaker’s introduction allow you to anticipate topics within the speech? Explain.

Criterion 3: YOUR ASSESSMENT OF THE BODY OF THE SPEECH

How did the speaker support claims? What type of evidence was used? Were the sources of this evidence credible? Why or why not? How closely did the speech adhere to the overview, if any, provided at the beginning? Explain.

Criterion 4: YOUR ASSESSMENT OF THE CONCLUSION OF THE SPEECH

How did the speaker finalize the claims? In other words, what links tied the speech? Were these links effective/ineffective? Why? Did the initial speech framework coincide with the concluding remarks? Did the speaker stray from the established logical frame? Explain.

Criterion 5: YOUR ASSESSMENT OF THE SPEAKER

How did the speaker’s style affect your overall reaction to the speech? For example, did the speaker’s use of eye contact, pitch, vocal rate…distract you from the intended message? How? What types of proofs were used to gain credibility? What other stylistic devices were effective/ineffective? Explain.

Criterion 6: YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS

After assessing the various components of the speech, provide your recommendations for improvement. It is NOT acceptable to provide recommendations without elaboration. In other words, do not write, “…I didn’t like the speech…just because.” If you make a claim, then substantiate that claim. Use evidence from your text or lecture material. Always answer the WHY question.

Establishing a procedure for tracking and reviewing contractors.

Network under a set of confined region is known as Intranet. It uses an IP protocol and IP-based tools like the file transfer application and web browsers that is provided by the server to only assigned IP address. Computer network communication is an important installation in a contemporary organization organisation. As the organization’s service provision is improved through the reliable communication, its competition with related firms is enhanced and, therefore, valued competence. Ultimate network design as a mode of flow of information among employees and stakeholders in promotes coordination in the management, team work and services the business offer. This automatically improves the performance of the organisation at the good will of all workers.
It should be noted that an organisation’s communication systems alone holds a large percentage in its performance that it should not be compromised, even on the slightest default. This would mean that the organisation would require an Information System that when a default occurs at any single point in the connection system, it would be easier to detect and reach that point as soon as possible. The design should be design with backbone network so temporally technical problem with not upset the performance of network communication. This is more appropriate in big organisations to maintain their data and communication confidentiality, integrity and accessibility. In networking design approach, the choice of device should be intelligently selected for the desired function, this will enhance performance in terms of managing security, traffic, errors in storage and transmitting information.
Documents and programs that are sensitive are run through LAN security domain system to create passwords for their protection against cybercrimes. The protected file would then be accessed by authorised personnel only. This would be an important idea where security of flowing information is paramount. Each set of the employee has got a privilege to prevent the access of any restricted file in the company.

Earn Value Statement
Statement of Work—Project Description and
Project Product The project intends to design easy to use network design that will accommodate shareholder demand and leverage the company on competitive edge against its rival.
Specification of the network is based on collective inquiry, user’s feedback and sponsors request, and the priority is meet the national regulation standard.
Scrum agile method approach will be employ in this design development project, this will allow the product use by the development team, while in design is in process, so that feedback will be used to make correction on inherent and apparent weakness that will be detected at the early stage..
The project team will be group in three, the developers, the testers and the users. The user group will consist of shareholders and designated team professional. Strong chain of feedback mechanism will be establish between users and the developers to report any fault at the early development stage. However early glitch may also be detected at the testing level and reported to the developers.
Project Deliverables Network design will be will have about 500sqft Wi-Fi capability, encryption tool for the protection of sensitive’s information of inputs made by client when hosting on the network. Users will be authenticated. .

Project Objectives The Objectives is to design company’s network to incorporate additional features and also correct inherent apparent weakness that have been reported on major cases by shareholders. It is also intended to give competitive advantage over business rivals. Project is schedule to complete in three commencing from 09/09/15 to 12/15/15.
50% of the total budget will be disbursed for the comment of the project and the remaining 50% will be disbursed at the midway of the project. Provision of 5% increase of the original budget is made available in the budget coffers to accommodate anticipated increase project cost.
However, with the introduction of improved working tools, project is expected to compete within budget.
Project Assumptions Work space will be required to accommodate all working station (i.e. developers, testers and users team station) and team members.
Project is likely to take longer than will be expected since the sponsors are part of the design process with direct influence on the project, sponsors preference might keep changing.
In addition to the testers and the users who may report design flaws ,experts or outsourced team may be required to independently assess performance, evaluate and test network, feedback may be employ to make to make required changes when the need arise to extend service or employ feedback from auditors to make any changes.
Other opportunities may be consider to affect design during process if it will give competitive advantage over business rivals.
Project Constraints Over security is concern like authentication process may discourage and prolong access to network facility .Project cascaded team and process may slow work. Project design needs dedicated and reliable server, free from threat and can host all team members time. Daily project routine needs to be documented and review by head of project before going to the next step, the procedure sometimes slow down development process. Team are expected to have long meeting with legal advisor before of the work begins.

Exclusions Based on available spaces and tools, only 8 members are required to the task.
Acceptance Criteria The network must operational or compatible to the major internet devices protocols.
