The purpose of this paper is to promote sexual self-awareness so that students will be able to counsel and minister ethically as well as knowing (cf. Rom. 12:3; Ps. 26:2; Ps. 42; Ps. 43; Prov. 14:8; Jer. 17:9).  Some students’ hearts fall in their stomachs when they realize they must write down and share their sexual story.  However, virtually all students report that this paper had a positive, significant, and critical impact on their lives.  In fact, many state that this paper has been the best assignment in their entire graduate program.  Most importantly, this paper’s content will be held in the highest of confidentiality and protection in Blackboard.

 

 

1. Content of Paper.

 

1. Each student will complete and submit a paper that shares his or her sexual story/journey.

 

1. Write the paper in a narrative format, not an outline format.

 

1. Start with your earliest memory and develop specific, key experiences and situations that shaped who you are as a sexual person.

 

1. As you develop your sexual history, relate which events you have struggled with and wish could have been different. It is not required address each item listed below; they are only provided to stimulate your thinking.

 

(1)  Consider those people, relationships and influences helped shape your attitudes/values about your body, masculinity/femininity and sex at various points of your development (elementary, high school, etc.).

(2)  Recall specific messages or incidents that created some of your attitudes, values and priorities.

(3)  Consider how sexuality was handled in your family of origin

(4)  Reflect on how early sexual experiences impacted you

(5)  Consider how particular incidents brought insight and growth and those that have provided woundedness

(6)  Consider any unfinished business that may need healing or further growth

 

1. Connect your Journey to Your Future and/or Current Work as a Pastoral Counselor. It is critical that you address how your sexual journey will impact your role as a pastoral counselor. For example, what will it be like for you to work with certain problems (particularly those that are sexual in nature), how and whether you ask sexual questions, and how your story will help or hinder your work, etc.

 

 

 

2. Format
3. Length. There is no required length for this paper; however, you will be graded on how adequately you considered and explored your sexual journey and sexual self.  A general rule of thumb is that the body of the paper should not be less than eight (8) pages in length.

 

1. Follow APA 6^th edition in the formatting of your paper.
2. No abstract is necessary.
3. Use first person.
4. Citations and sources are not needed, but if used cite and reference accurately.

 

This assignment will only benefits you, your future clients, and most importantly your relationship with God if you are willing to be courageously open in exploring your sexual self. Information in the questionnaire is confidential and will only be reviewed by the instructor for purposes of evaluating student performance on this assignment.

Now that you have educated the new investigator on the concepts of class and individual characteristics of evidence, it is time to begin collecting the evidence that you had marked during the initial walk-through. In this assignment, you address the actual collection and preservation tasks used during the investigation.

There are numerous examples of physical and trace evidence, and although general crime scene procedures will be the same, the type of evidence will determine the specific collection procedure. Below is a list of many types of evidence that may be found at a crime scene.

Assignment Guidelines

Address the following in 7 – 9 pages:

• Select 5 – 7 of the above types of physical evidence, and explain processes involved with the identification, collection, and preservation of each type.
• Answer the following questions for each of your selections:
  • How is it identified? Explain.
    • What class characteristics might you find associated with the selected type of evidence?
    • How difficult is the type of evidence to identify? Explain.
  • What is the process for removing and collecting the evidence? Explain in detail.
    • Your analysis must reference specific tests, histological staining, microscopes, and other equipment or techniques that should be used.
    • What tools are necessary to collect the evidence? Describe.
    • What challenges exist regarding the collection of the evidence? Explain.
  • How is the evidence stored and preserved? Explain.
    • How difficult is it to store and preserve the evidence? Explain.
    • How might the evidence become contaminated and therefore inadmissible in court? Explain.

Be sure to reference all sources using APA style.

Project Objectives

•         To research a specific issue in the field of correctional management
•         To critically analyze journal articles that reflect current or recent perspectives on that issue

Assignment

1.       Using library resources, find two (2) journal articles relating to one single particular issue in correctional management.  (The designated topics are listed below.)

Create a flyer for your annual festival to distribute in print form throughout your community and online in your local newspaper. Be sure the flyer is colorful, attractive, easily understandable to people with varying reading abilities, and appropriately detailed but not too information-dense. Be sure to mention the festival’s guest speaker, too. In short, the flyer should be welcoming, easily understood, and accurately representative of your event.

Post your flyer to the Phase 3 Discussion Board area as an attached Word document so your colleagues can truly appreciate it and better evaluate its content.
