Company Memo

You are an assistant in an investment firm who needs to relay important information about the rule and those businesses or industries that are covered by the rule. 

For this assignment, you will need to summarize the proposed rule for your immediate supervisor. The memo will be subdivided into three sections:

• Rule Summary
• Description of those (industries, companies, etc.) impacted
• Description of the actions that the rule will impose upon those impacted

• Rule Summary
• Description of first industry or business affected and actions that the rule will impose
• Description of second industry or organization affected and actions that the rule will impose…

Usually agencies will have a one-paragraph summary of the rule. You will need to go far beyond one paragraph for the executives of your investment firm, and produce a 2-page summary that leaves your supervisor with complete understanding of all the main points of the structure and coverage of the regulation.

1. Audience: Upper Management, specifically your direct superior
2. Format: Business Memo
3. Purpose: Efficient yet comprehensive summary of rule (no evaluation)
4. Length: 2 pages, single-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman, full and complete sentences with minimal number of bullet points. Follows conventions from the given memo format. 

Assignment Criteria (please consult the rubric for more information)

Audience: The tone and diction of the memo reflect a professional relationship with the audience.  

Format: The structure of the memo follows standard conventions of a company memo, to include subsections, bullet points for only important information and short paragraphs that succinctly convey summary information of the rule and who is affected. 

Purpose: The memo will communicate three important pieces of information. 

a.) Summary of the rule

b.) Summary of specifically businesses or industries that are affected by the rule. 

c.) Summarize what action these groups will need to take as indicated by the rule. In other words, how will the company, industry, etc. have to change should the rule be implemented? 

Mechanics: There are little to no stylistic or grammatical errors in the memo. The memo has been proofread, correcting disjointed sentences, using minimal bullet points, and correct spelling and punctuation. 

Write a 525- to 700-word response that addresses the following prompts:

• Define statistics with citation and reference.
• Contrast quantitative data and qualitative data with citation and reference.
• Describe the levels of data measurement.
• Describe the role of statistics in business decision-making.
• Provide at least two business research questions, or problem situations, in which statistics was used or could be used.

This assignment focuses on analyzing policies about child maltreatment in the United States where, as noted in the Week Three Instructor Guidance and the Rubin (2012) recommended readings for Week Three, it is a growing national issue. This assignment is another opportunity to further apply 21st century technology skills as you create an informational brochure meant to inform the public in a variety of potential environments about child maltreatment in the United States and in a specific state of your choosing. Your finished brochure will be included in your website as part of the Week Six Final Project. Beyond reading the Week Three Instructor Guidance and the recommended chapters from Rubin (2012), review the State of California (2014) website resources for services related to children’s and youth health, the CDCP (2014) website about preventing child maltreatment, the Child Help (2014) website programs page, and the CAPA (2014) webpage about their programs and services to learn about child maltreatment and policies related thereto. Content Instructions

Using a digital software program such as Microsoft Publisher or Lucidpress.com, create a single-page, 3-panel, front-to back brochure that informs the public about the realities of child maltreatment in the United States and a specific state of your choosing. The brochure should be designed to appeal to audiences in a variety of settings, such as offices of school counselors or nurses, community centers and outreach facilities, public health facilities, and social services departments. Use the “Save As” option to save your brochure as a PDF. Submit the PDF version as your assignment for evaluation and include the attachment or link if constructed from an online source such as Lucidpress to your website.

• Title (1 point): Include an engaging title for the brochure.
