Write a word-processed business-type report. The word limit is a minimum of 1500 and a maximum of 3000 words. You should evaluate and discuss the information appropriately to ensure it is relevant and succinctly argued to achieve the limit. In support of understanding key elements about this assignment you are expected to complete on-line tests relating to theory and complex scenarios. The overall mark you gain for this assessment will be calculated as part of the marking scheme and in line with the assessment strategy; (see previous sheet).

Critically discuss an area selected from ONE of the six topics covered in this module (Access Management, Request Fulfillment, Incident Management, Event Management, Service Operations and Problem Management). You should collate and review current thinking on the topic. The report should clearly identify the key components of your selected topic and the associated processes and functions. The report should discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the solution you have chosen. You should also discuss the potential success to be gained by implementing an ITIL conformant solution and potential failures of not deploying an ITIL conformant solution. Whilst this report concentrates on one specific area your answer should include the potential integration and co-operation between all the elements including key functions, processes and policies. It should also include key roles and responsibilities. Where possible include a variety of appropriately cited examples from industry and cases studies, to justify and support your arguments. Students can use the on-line fictitious case study if they wish. After the evaluation you should draw up relevant recommendations and conclusions.
