Make sure to UNDERLINE your thesis statement in your paper. Clear organization. This means your paper should include a clear introduction and conclusion. Your introduction should include your thesis statement and should give a preview of what is to come in the body of your essay. Your conclusion should be its own paragraph and should summarize the main points of your argument and tie up any loose ends. Content from class. You are expected to draw your evidence from AT LEAST ONE of the novels assigned this semester (The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, the Magician’s Nephew, The Hobbit, Harry Potter (any), The Golden Compass, and Good Omens). You are also expected to draw from AT LEAST ONE of the supplementary articles provided this semester. You may choose to do outside research for this exam, but you are only required to use the materials provided in class. Citations. You are expected to cite the sources that you use in this class. Passages included from the novel should be cited with the book title and page number number where it can be found. Information included from the supplementary articles should be cited using the author’s last name and the page number where you found it. Your paper should be 3-5 pages double spaced, use a standard font (Times, cambria, calibri, Helvetica, etc. ) in size 10-12 pt and have 1-inch margins. Your paper should include a title, be proofread for spelling and grammar, and include in-text citations when appropriate. You should also indicate which prompt you chose at the top of your paper.
