This paper will provide your overall assessment of the films and what you have learned from them, integrating concepts and information from the readings and lectures by applying them to the films’ content. Center the title of the paper – “Film Integration Paper” on the first page, just before the body of the paper The paper should be about 4-6 pages long and will consist of the sections below. The page length indicated after each section is a flexible guideline. Introduce your paper by discussing some themes, issues, and broader ideas that you gleaned from the films about death and dying. Outline the rest of your paper. Strengths and Weaknesses (1-2 pages) Your assessment of strengths and weaknesses can include style and/or content.

Address the following: • What do you think the major strengths of the films overall? Explain why. • What do you think were the major weakness of the films? Explain why. • Which particular film would you argue is the strongest of them and why? • Which particular film would you argue is the weakest of them and why? o Weakest does not necessarily mean that you think it was a bad film, but perhaps was a film that you thought could use the most improvement.

Connections (2-3 pages) This is where you show how your library research, course material, and the films all work together. What specific connections you can make between the films and concepts, theories, research, and issues in the readings and your articles? You should be able to make multiple connections between the films, research articles, and chapters/readings. While there is no set number of connections to make, you should make a minimum of one connection per research article and four connections to four different chapters and should be quality connections. Making a quality connection means that you give a specific connection and thoroughly explain the connection, and that it is a substantive connection – it contains some depth to it. An example of a Poor-quality connection: “Isaiah Owens is a funeral director and funeral directors are talked about in the textbook.” Conclusion (1/4-1/2 page) Conclude with your final thoughts on the films, your library research, and readings overall.
