For your final paper you will choose a topic below, read several articles (6-10) to educate yourself and come up with a research question, as we practiced through the “Research Prelude.” Then compose a thesis that answers that question and asserts a specific part of the subject matter.
From there you will write a minimum 3-page paper that includes no more than three different outside sources (quotes). There should be a quote (no paraphrasing) from each article, and you may have two quotes from one article. This means there cannot be more than four in-text citations (1 quote per article, and possibly a 2nd quote from one of these).
You must have a works cited page, and you must attach the single page from the article(s)/book(s)/Website(s) you use. Make sure to highlight what you’ve quoted from that source so that you can double check your accuracy. This means that your whole paper will be a minimum 7 pages (3 pages + 1 works cited + 3 article attachments = 7).
Discuss your strategy, thesis, etc. with you. Important: As part of this assignment, there is an oral element worth 25 points. You must do a 5-6-minute presentation about your topic. Things like why you chose it, what the main take away was and how it may have solidified or broadened your scope of the topic.
