1) How would characterize W.E.B. Du Bois’ views regarding racism in America and the response African American’s should have to it?
2) What was occurring in America at time this poem was published that might have influenced Du Bois’ thoughts and feelings?
3) Did this poem only reflect African American views, or would other groups in the nation have been able to relate to Du Bois’ sentiments? Why or why not?
